There is a local pizza joint where I live. They do a flavor of the week deal. For Thanksgiving they did a "turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy" flavor. Since we are so close to Canada, they did a "Poultine" flavor. It keeps you on your toes.
I'm that person that doesn't likes when there's pineapple on pizza and would never get it as an ingredient, even though, I like pizza too much and whenever there's one with pineapple I just eat the pineapple first and then I eat a pineapple free slice of good ol' pizza
I never thought I could like pineapple on pizza but then I tried it once, and it was pretty good. I'd have it again. Sometimes you just have to be open minded about things ;-) But those bugs they had to eat for Operation Ko Lan. Forget it. No way.
IMO anything is fine on pizza so long as it gets eaten and isnt human flesh, but i am ready to have my mind changed.
there are no rules anymore so long as i am not being forced to eat it. if i am... ill take pineapple with some kind of pork otherwise it just doesn't work for me. maybe bacon is the universal solvent of the pizza world... it makes unpalatable things palatable, it will grease up your guns and unsqueak yo window joints. it will give you a dewy disposition when rubbed on your highborn cheeks... and its the defining ingredient in a complete bloody mary. its so good it makes pineapple OK on pizza. for me anyway. or at least that canadian variant.
The problem with pineapple On pizza is that it’s always paired with ham or Canadian bacon. Ham is a bad pizza topping. Pineapple and sausage is absolutely delicious on pizza.
The pub that I and a few local agents have a meetup each week once had a 'That shouldn't be on a pizza' pizza, it had all sorts of things that people usually argue over: pineapple, anchovies, prawns, chilies, mustard, ...
I've seen many times that if you're in a group getting pizza, you have to argue hard to even get a pizza with anchovies on it... but it is always the first to go.
