Nearby Portal information in 2.31.2: arrows missing, movement distracting… and information is wrong!
I have just taken a series of 3 screen shots (from my iPhone X) showing major problems with this new feature.
Unfortunately the forum gives me a message saying "You have to be around for a little while longer before you can post links." so I'll have to describe them for now... if anyone can advise how long 'a little while longer' is, or could post the photos for me, that would be a real help.
Photo one shows three nearby portal information boxes, two have direction indicators pointing left, but the one on the right goes off the side of the screen, so the direction indicator is missing. The position of the boxes is a big problem as it covers up part of the circle where my actions have effect.
Photo two shows the same three information boxes, but in wildly different places on the screen, however I have not moved the phone at all, the boxes jump and slide around because I have a small amount of GPS drift, and have ' Map Orientation Dynamic Compass' turned on in settings. This time the direction arrow for one of the left boxes has vanished, presumably behind the + shortcut to opening boxes. One particular portal has a direction arrow visible, and it's pointing left.
Photo three shows the same view from the same location, again the phone has not been moved, but I have pinched to zoom in. The portal information boxes have all vanished, as they seem to do at random, but the portal that had a Left arrow on it's information box can now be seen in the distance, straight ahead! If the player had gone left as indicated, they would in fact be moving AWAY from the portal.

How about 3 of the same portal on screen at the same time?
Yeah, these are way too large and take up too much screen real estate.
We don't need the "portal" glyph icon - it's already abundantly obvious by the photo.
The icon will be replaced by enl or res logos when the portal is not neutral. But I agree that the boxes are too large.
Ideally, color of the box could provide that like in Redacted.
OK, silly question... Are the boxes all blue, even when the Portal is neutral or Enlightened?
Yes, except the frame around the picture. From the post above, you see it white. It becomes blue or green accordingly, but the frame of the popup stays blue.
It's not blue. It's purple.
I have the same issue as whomiga. Duplicate portal notifications.
It's #7c81fd which, to be pedantic, is kind of lilac, but it's basically blue if you look at the RGB values. It also looks bluer on my phone than it does on my laptop.
Anyway, even if it's purple, surely it should be blue, green or white depending on the portal.
Please allow me to toggle this feature on and off. It clutters the scanner and is pretty useless most of the time. I know where the portals are. The only time I would use this is if I were in a new area I had not played in before.
The portal icon changes to Enlightened or Resistance logo if the portal is deployed to

Yes, please setup for toggle on and off. This was an advantage prime had over redacted was no nearby portal on screen.
I can now post photos! Here's a much easier to understand version of my original post with pictures.
This one shows the positioning bug, the box on the right has no direction arrow, as it's positioned over the edge of the screen.
This one shows that the direction arrow can be obscured by the [+] shortcut.
...and this one shows the direction arrows are actually pointing the the wrong direction! All I have done is tilt the view, so "Worcester Mural At..." is visible in the distance. The arrow in picture 2 sends you left, but the portal is actually almost dead ahead, and should have had an upwards arrow - following the left arrow will actually take you further away from the portal!
Driving in the countryside we also experienced that Prime did not show nearby portals, but kept displaying information of portals that were 45 to 100km away, while there actually would have been portals less than 5km away.
Also, it did not show the faction of thd portal correctly, even if you clicked to view the actual portal and saw that it is green, the nearby portal remained white.
Hi, I got the same issue of dup nearby portals with Ingress 2.33.1 on October 7th:
