If you're not Recursed, this feature is great. Because you have your Lifetime value below, and your current level requirement above.
It just sucks for those of us who've recursed and are used to the original value.
Also, I suspect it's lazy coding. They got complaints that the bar never reset when you leveled up, so now they're setting the displayed value to 0 so that the bar empties.
But from the very beginning Prime showed me my overall AP value, and then required AP value, and that was clear. Now I have more values in my profile which I don't really need. It just stupid to change something that players are used to.

Seems to be a feature not a bug.
AP by level instead of global which now is lifetime ap.
But yeah that's odd
I have to say I'm not a fan of this change either, but it's not a bug. Just another bad design decision.
It is following the by Level conventions of both PoGo and Wizards Unite. Personally I find it easier to see the progress this way.
It's very confusing now.
This is ingress though. We've always had our own way of doing AP and it doesn't make sense to change now even if it is still the same overall.
We also have badgelocks

Should have an option to see one or the other. Players choice.

Isn't "Changing something the players are used to" the very definition of Prime?
