Feature Parity: Distance To Closest Portal
This is closely related to, but not quite the same as, the frequent request for implementing the Navigate to Portal feature from Prime.
In Redacted you get a visible indication on the screen of distance and status of the closest portal or two. This useful feature is missing from Prime.
This is most useful in sparser and rural areas. Pull off the highway at a gas station and see that there is a portal just 350 meters away? Tasty! 5 km away? Well, maybe...
I'm sure someone is already about to jump the gun and tell me to use the Intel map. Let's compare the workflows:
Redacted:
1. See distance and approximate direction right in the scanner which I already have open.
Prime:
1. Think of looking for nearby portals.
2. Open Intel map. (Well, actually, open IITC which shows my current position on the map.)
3. Zoom in to find nearby portals.
4. Note that zooming in far enough to show level 0 portals will often miss the closest portal in sparse areas. Pan around to see if I've missed anything.
5. Select likely target or multiple targets.
6. Switch back to Prime. Oh wait, my web browser pushed memory hog Prime out of memory. Wait for Prime to reload.
7. Wait a bit longer for prime to reload.

I miss this too. I've been using prime so long I forgot it was a thing.
The popups have always been notoriously unreliable, I'd rather see it revamped entirely for prime.
Give me a screen that can show me (roughly) a list of nearby portals, (In reality, keep querying larger and larger S2's until I have 10 portals, in an infinitely scrolling list)
Let that list filter by faction, visited, level, neutral, 'upgrades available', 'hack mods'
The game will increase in players playing strategically 10 times overnight.
Still have the popups, but give them a few random 'flavors'
nearest portal, nearest allied portal, nearest unique, nearest enemy portal, nearest field.
Or perhaps it should be the first one in the most recently used filtered list, when there isn't anything on screen.
The popups in Prime are huge and annoying. How do I make them disappear? This was a setting in redacted...
I am pretty sure it was not a setting in Redacted.
