Blue event badges are discouraging to Enlightened players
While the current Aurora challenge, also known as the recycling challenge, is disliked by many players, there's an added disincentive for Enlightened players -- I've seen at least 10 players in various chats who said that they stopped shortly after getting the bronze badge because they didn't want to risk getting stuck with a blue achievement badge on their profile.
Can someone from Niantic explain why there is so much blue on the profiles of Enlightened players?
It's frustrating to have to explain to curious family members that yes, I'm still on the Green team even though all my stats are shown in blue. "So the game is designed to encourage more Blue players?" -- direct quote from my sibling.

Yeah, there should NEVER be badges in blue or green unless they are going to be specifically awarded to a faction. FULL STOP.
I did however, like getting the purple badge, because, purple. Lol
Good point @Morganza It is frustrating to see blue, but not green in the challenges. Unfortunately, the next Anomaly badge is also looking very blue. I love doing the challenges, but this one I really had to plan out, to decide if it was worth doing. I knew that I wouldn't want to be stuck with the blue badge and completing this one, was a big time commitment.
But if Niantic make it more green we have same problem when Resistance agents dont like green.
I can fully understand opposite team dont want to be stuck in a color for the other faction.. i think its wrong imo they are using blue and pink colors for silver and gold ? why not make like older silver should look like silver and gold is the new pink now ? it doesnt make sense...
A way to think about it is because, well, nemesis is a faction inside resistance.
Maybe someday we will have to fight a faction inside enlightenment and then the badge would be mostly green?
All newbies was res, then faction-medal(osiris),then too blue scanner and blue "silver". It is wrong as for me.Usual silver/platinum/onyx medals look pretty and stylish, and this is not.I've taken purple one but it was not easy.
It is really a good question is that game designed only for one team?
Possibly, Niantic should "FIX" the BADGE COLOR to a "Neutral CF Color" and/or create a more "Green-Blue" for ENL and "Blue-Green" for RES. This could be done. 😂😊😋👍
That's why they shouldn't pick either.
It would be interesting to know whether the badge distribution is different for Enl and Res players when one of the levels is a blue badge.
I thought the XM in Prime being "turned" blue for the RES Osiris victory was hilarious. Since the base color is so blue, anyway, most people didn't even notice, unless it was because the XM was a more visible shade of blue.
I guess ENL really should stop complaining about event badges and skin elements being blue. I mean, you never hear RES agents complaining that all the crappy common gear is green, after all .
Its true, I see this as well. Lots of enl agents just stopped at bronze because of the color, myself included. And the blue anomaly badge is harder to sell as an incentive to go.
To see that this is true, niantic can compare 'agent percentage that achieved aurora gold/blue badge' between enl and res agents.
I went to get the silver/blue badge in order to motivate myself to get the gold/purple one. I wanted to avoid having something blue in my scanner.
I knew how to reach it, and did so with 2 days to spare.
