Are schools acceptable now?

in General
In the last week I reported 2 portals on school grounds. They were denied for insufficient evidence, despite school signs being visible on Street View directly in front of the both POIs.
I appealed here. Both appeals were denied as they do "not meet our criteria for removal at this time".
Does this mean portals on school grounds are now acceptable?

No it does not mean portals on school grounds are acceptable.
It means you need more proof. I would get property line maps to prove it.
Those aren't the first takedown appeals regarding portals on school property that Niantic has rejected, I think its up to four in the last couple of months. The one thing they all have in common is that they are private religious schools. So I am wondering if they have changed their policy, hence why I asked the question during the last AMA.
I had a playground removed from a church this week for being part of a daycare.
schools are not ok portals, if u see them in opr or live ingame just report them.
I did. Read again what I wrote.
I think (hope) it was just due to a lack of evidence in your appeals.
Your new appeals look better and hopefully niantic takes action on them.
weird, i have reported a few portals that said school area and niantic was usually very quick to remove those portals.
Care to explain why Niantic rejected this appeal? It's quite clearly on school property (on the school building itself).
I think the rule for portals not being on school property is to prevent people from entering there illegally. This portal is clearly outside, easily reachable from the street. No one would be tempted to enter the school. Why should the portal be removed?
Because the rule is/was, no portals on school property. These portals are clearly on school property. Whether you could touch them from the sidewalk was irrelevant, just like with private residential property.
Make a report here,
post the rejection email and reason why and see what happens.
You all seem like smart people, I request your guidance:
There is this portal inside a private property.
There is no way to get to actually see it because the only way to do so is living in that house. therefore is not possible to check if it even exists.
Portal is reachable from outside, but not possible to go under it, excluding random GPS drifts, ofc.
Is this portal valid?
If not, how should I proceed for its removal?
Thanks for your advices :)
Gobs... If it's private RESIDENTIAL property then it's invalid. Otherwise it's fine. The post directly above yours has the info you need
I was contacted via TG by another player with connections to one of the schools who had a thorough look at Intel and found 9 more private religious schools in Melbourne with the school chapel being a portal. Each school has been contacted directly, not by me but that was going to be my next step if these appeals were denied a second time.
Portals on School grounds should be removed.
@SoylentGrien perhaps providing a google streetview link when you next report it would help.
I still do not like that chapels in SOME schools are rejected, as some towns, that is the point where community congregates on important issues, and sermons. But that is my own opinion, and it pains me to reject them in OPR
I had provided a Google Street View link when I reported a portal on school property along with plenty of photos showing that the portal was part of the school building itself. The appeals still got rejected.
@TheFarix I'd raise a ticket with support then. Clearly someone isn't following their own rules.
I brought the question up in the AMA. Hopefully, @RedSoloCup doesn't answer it since its rejection and the rejection of other takedown appeals runs completely counter to the stated policy of no portals on school property.
keep reporting portals on school areas and write clearly "SCHOOL AREA".
Looks like both the appeals were accepted on the second try
If it's a Church congregation with a school attached to it the Church part is still valid for portals though.
No, it's a school. Nothing else. The school chapel is not a public church.
Actually, there are a lot of churches/chapels that are for the public, after school hours.
In some respects, it is the school that is on church property, not the other way around
These are NOT churches. They are school chapels on school property.
Some churches rent school halls on a Sunday. That does not make it a church.
