store purchase suggestion: purchasable inventory capacity increases

As title says.

Pokemon Go has a similar system and this comes up as a suggestion every time we get frustrated with changes to the store offerings.

Additionally, Recursion could offer a similar benefit so there's actually a reason to go through the leveling grind again.

The idea has been suggested before, I'm sure. What sets apart Ingress from PoGo or HPWU is that it's made to be a team effort based game which doesn't follow a pay-to-win structure. Having additional capacity for non-key items may sound good. However, this amounts to an unfair advantage over others who may not purchase the additional storage or may stop players from playing regularly as they would have consistent inventory stocked up. Such a model would favour the wealthy and widen the rich-poor gap in society, especially in this game. It would be seen as Niantic being cash hungry.

It's not so much of a problem for HPWU and PoGo because of wider appeal. Niantic can definitely still cash in on these franchises. Ingress doesn't need to be the same. Of course recently it's been noted that items like frackers have doubled in cost. These items are the only ones that are worth spending a dime on because they double the output of items hacked.

Other than that, effective inventory management will allow for better use of the limitations. It has spawned certain specialised roles within the community to use as part of team strategy, such as farmers, mercenaries, rechargers, etc, even if these roles are not part of the Ingress game itself but a byproduct of the environment.

Right. So let's come up with some other things that might both be worth an expenditure and be something players would actually buy - such as item capacity.

As for pay to win here... You still have to acquire the items.
