Suggestion - Ingress Etiquette Primer
I know there are a few Ingress primers out there, but I haven't seen many Ingress etiquette guides out there. Maybe I haven't looked hard enough? The best one I could find is the unofficial ingress rules on ingress.buzz.
Upon playing the game, I kind of realize why there may be no official “etiquette” guide yet. The game is constructed so there are very few things a player can do wrong.
However, as a newbie, it's still reassuring to know which actions I should take and the actions I should avoid. So, could Niantic make such a Ingress Etiquette Primer?
It might include:
1) Actions that might seem wrong but are behaviors that should be encouraged (like putting a bunch of level 1 resonators on every allied portal you find)
2) Actions that should be avoided (Like getting angry at a portal takover, throwing unnecessarily long links, or spoofing)
3) Actions that might be considered trolling, so use your discretion (like pinging portals by firing off a level 1 xmp burster in a cluster of level 8 enemy portals.)
4) Actions that you should do because it makes the entire ingress community better, such as being friendly to members in your faction and encouraging newbies to have at it.

Ingress has been around for a while, Prime is just the new shiny version. As for etiquette best to ask your local group. Different areas have different ones. Big one is always ask before you use a flip card (Ada refractor/Jarvis Virus) on a portal thats not yours (same faction or other factors depending on the scenario).

Admittedly a Newbie, but why should one ask, and who should one ask before using a flip card on an enemy portal? Isn't that the point of them? Thank you kindly. -Arloglass
I think this mainly applies to portals that are owned by ADA or JARVIS (so flipped by your own team). It's usually used as a defensive measure so that the opposing team can't smash the portal with XMPs (for example, during farms).
Any linked portal can be helpful or a nuisance while it be friend or foe. Depends on the operation being conducted. Agents may have to take down a friendly portal/link to field, or leave up a foes link to block incoming blocking links that could interrupt a cover.
