Suggestion - Minimum damage taken before sending a portal alert
I suggest adding a minimum amount of damage that any resonator on a portal needs to take from enemy attacks before the phone alerts us that the portal is under attack.
Alarms will be silenced if no resonator on a portal takes the required percentage of damage over a 24 hour period. The amount of damage considered would be based off of all attacks launched against all the resonators of a portal over a 24 hour period.
The alert would be tripped if any resonator on a portal has taken the required percentage of damage.
Possible settings could be: Report all attacks, 1% damage, 5% damage, 10% damage, and 20% damage.
That way if a level 1 agent attacks a level 8 portal with 1 level 1 xmp burster and does less than 1% damage to all resonators on that portal, then your phone would not report it. But, if an opposing agent says, fires an level 3 xmp buster on a high level portal and a level 1 resonator on that portal takes the required amount of damage, then your phone will alert you that the portal is under attack.
Also, the damage would be cumulative. So, if someone fires a bunch of xmp bursters near a portal and does over the required amount of cumulative damage to any resonator on the portal over a 24 hour period, then the phone would alert you that the portal is under attack.
This way, if you're serious about guarding your portals, then you will be warned when the attack is serious, but not be bothered if the attack is doing negligible damage.

Thats an interesting idea but I would assume that would require quite a high amount of server resources to pull off accurately, and honestly with the way things are more often than not a portal is dead before the alert comes through in any case. I can't imagine how adding in all these tracking criteria per reso per portal would workout. Again, interesting idea but not sure if possible with the server resources in place.
Also where would this game be without the ability to troll someone by pinging their portal with X1s? :-)
Heh, it never hurts to ask. Thanks for responding. (:
