Proxy problem

In some places agents have to use proxy to play Ingress. I noticed that Prime blocked lots of proxy addresses. I think the block may be related to anti-cheating. I certainly like to see less cheaters in the game. But I also want to play Ingress in places where proxy is a must(i.e. in China).

As redacted is going to be retired, the proxy problem becomes critical for people who have to use proxy to play Ingress. I have over 20 proxy addresses but only three can login to Prime by now(and I don't know how long these three addresses can still login to Prime). Many people have the same problem. They can hardly find a proxy address which can login to Prime.

I hope there will be less impact on normal proxy users on Prime scanner. Please look at this issue. Thanks.

    I can confirm quite a number of agents in my region cannot access Ingress Prime due to this proxy issue. It is quite common that a proxy (e.g. a Shadowsocks subscription) can be used to access Scanner[Redacted] but not Ingress Prime. If this issue cannot be resolved before the retirement of Scanner[Redacted] in September, these agents may no longer be able to play Ingress anymore unless they spend more money to try more different types of proxy, which should be a catastrophe to the Ingress community in mainland China.

    @NianticScot @RedSoloCup please help!

    This might be related to an issue I observed this weekend while recharging for Helsinki. We were four agents recharging from a public wifi. Prime and intel produced network error messages while using the wifi, only redacted loaded without issues.

    One of my teammates was able to circumvent this issue by switching to his universitiys proxy, so we could access intel.

    Only a minor inconvenience, since in ggermany we don't have to rely on proxys and/or public wifi to access Ingress, but I can imagine this being a big issue in other places.
