A question about Portals

Hi All, I'm not sure if this is the spot to ask this or not, but I'll give it a shot. I'm looking for some help setting up a portal/portals in a rural area. I've already reached out to the community using the ingame chat but it was never responded to or potentially never viewed.

Currently I am living in a rural area in Newfoundland with several sizeable communities, and I was looking for help in setting up a few portals to help bring the game into the area. The closest portal to us is over a 40 minute drive away and anyone interested in playing the game can only do so when travelling to bigger centers.

I've been playing for quite some time but with only sporadic access to portals, I will likely not reach a level where I can request the portal through conventional means anytime soon. If there is anyone who can offer some advice/help on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

There is a thread in reddit called Bonus Location Swap Megathread. (https://www.reddit.com/r/IngressOPR/comments/b1ixlw/bonus_location_swap_megathread/)

There you could perhaps find someone willing to rate submitions in your area, however if you don't have submitions because you have not reached the required level that is not going to work.

Also, in our country/region community we also announce when we are traveling (usually by Telegram) so agents in the destination area could ask you to transport keys and also they could help you find things to do (or portal candidates to submit) while on that area. Maybe joining communities from regions nearby will help you find people that could submit portals near you.

I hope you could find a way.

Agree, joining the nearest community for your team is highly critical. If there is a dense urban play area in the nearby distance that it would take 3 to 4 hours to drive from then look for a local community or high level agents to contact from that area.

A few reasons why you can convince folks to come out to you to help submit is because of,

    A) Offering a great time when visiting the area, show them the best food places and just get them to enjoy visiting so you can convince them to come back.

    B) Having an active agent in rural areas whose a part of the communities is always useful. Either fielding OPS or a rural OPR agent drastically helps out other reviewing areas so if you now have access to a spine that your team can use easily with you then it's definitely a great investment to help you out.

    C) A lot of folks are good samaritans, and they can even use this time to help you by making it an ingress story where it gets featured by Niantic. So having positive stories like this will also help areas attract the attention for Niantic when hosting possible future events.

Hope I added a few more helpful set of information along with @DGaleano really good advice too.
