Clarify duration of "Warning"
Dear Niantic Team / @NianticCasey,
The new Policy Enforcement announcement says:
If this strike is issued, you will see a warning message in the Ingress Scanner informing you that we have detected a violation on your account. You must acknowledge this warning in the Scanner before you can continue playing Ingress. This warning will last for approximately 7 days. After the warning has expired, any further violations will result in additional escalated punishments. You will not receive another warning.
Can you clarify how exactly the "7 days" are relevant here? From what I understand warnings do not prevent one from playing and also one does not ever receive a second warning.
So what exactly changes once the 7 days expire? Will one have to acknowledge the warning for every single Scanner start for 7 days?
Comments
Great question @TimWolla! The warning screen will persist for 7 days and you'd need to acknowledge the warning on each subsequent login during that time in order to play. Additionally, your access to send messages in COMM will be limited during that time.
We'll also be rolling out some help documentation surrounding this change once it's live so that each step is clearly documented.
Thank you for the clarification.
Edit: @NianticCasey This brings me to the follow-up question: Will the Intel Map be unavailable during the whole 7 days? Will it be sufficient to acknowledge the message once to access the Intel?
