Things I find better in Prime
This was inspired by a Reddit thread that asked what reasons people like in Prime over Redacted. Because of all the negativity towards Prime lately, I though it would be good to have a post that focused on the positive aspects of Prime.
Must of what I'm posting here will be a repeat of what I posted in the Reddit thread.
- One-finger map rotation like every other app that uses a map. The lack of one-finger rotation was one of the most annoying things about Redacted because it was such a non-standard behavior compared to other apps.
- Better inventory management in that I can mass recycle items I don't need. Have a bunch of low level busters clogging up the inventory. I can quickly select multiple stack and off they go.
- Much clearer visuals when you are under a field. The "wavy" pattern in Redacted was just hard to see through.
- Chat is completely separated from activity making it much easier to follow conversations.
- Overall, a more intuitive interface that is also more adaptable to one handed use.
- 25km radius nominations, which reduces the number of trips I have to make into an area when I have more candidates than open slots.
- Speaking of nominations, the fact that I can tell how many slots I have left before I even begin a nomination is a huge bonus. No more "false photos" to see how many slots I have left.
- Individual volume controls, because that background sound is just too annoying, but I want to keep ADA's dialogue nor do I want to mess with the master volume on my phone just to quieten down one noisy app.
- Easy to see how many items I have in my inventory on the top screen without having to mess with any additional menus. That way I know if I can continue to hack or will need to recycle items. Very useful to check before I find myself in a situation where I am quickly hacking a bunch of portals only to find that some didn't take because my inventory was full. This was very useful during this latest event.
- Nice big hack and deploy buttons, which came in really handy while trying to get those 750 hacks during this latest event.

Re no.8 - individual volume control- It is the same way in REDACTED.
no.6 -25km submissions - that's actually negative, Ingress was designed to move to somewhere physically .
i like that it is the same map interface as pokemon and harry potter.
as an iOS user (so not sure if different on DROIDS), redacted simply just has the options: OFF - LOW - MEDIUM - HIGH
I enjoy having the slider from 0%-100% allows for a more customised experience :)
Also a recent update has given Prime the nice dynamic lighting options on iOS and the games looks beautiful.
While I'm sure some members of my local community would disagree, being constantly under a large layered field, being able to see the road/footpaths between some rural portals, is a nice change.
On the agent screen I love how it shows you how many additional badges you have for Level up. Knowing I have More Platinum badges then is required for my next level is quite nice.
When Linking I love that it doesn't throw me right back to the screen, but offers me the next portal to link to, the whole process is so much more efficient
Also, In scanner you can take a photo of something and place it where ever in the world - just a minor oversight. I think a radius of 25km to allow to snap some photos then when you get some more submissions just submit them from home :) I love the 2nd photo aspect, this allows me to give the person on the other end of OPR a lot more information than just the old Point and ****. As an OPR reviewer it is also heaven.
Also on the inventory being able to name capsules is the main reason i moved to prime early :). The other being that scanner wasn't designed for Notched iPhones and parts of the UI and Glyph screen are affected.
I think once people get over the Nostalgia and muscle memory of Ingress 1 then they should hopefully find the same enjoyment out of Prime.
