Prime freezes regularly but especially in areas with network issues

Summary of issue:
Myriad Challenge has given me the chance to intensely use Prime over the last couple of days (12+ hour days). I've learned to keep Scanner [Redacted] running in the background because Prime very regularly freezes. It is especially regular in places where the network access is poor (Prime freezes even with great signal). Switching to Scanner [Redacted] in these low-signal situations proves there is sufficient network for the game to function (at times 1 minute between actions to give an example of how poor) but Prime is just terrible at coping with poor network conditions - exactly the same as PoGo and WU. (Back to Prime to keep on par for forum.) Prime will freeze with actions as simple as tap hacking, opening a portal, tap-recharge or even just rotating the scanner. By comparison, Scanner [Redacted] remains responsive - albeit with no information because there's little-to-no connection but "pops" into life with information when it reconnects. Prime just gets stuck, no movement, no response, frozen, dead.
I typically run without Wi-Fi enabled but I can confirm also that the switching between Wi-Fi and mobile reception is even more likely to cause Prime to freeze (just like PoGo & WU). In these network-switch situations, Scanner [Redacted] has issues but happily recovers once the phone has worked out which network to use.
This is a feature parity issue that needs to be resolved.
Devices: Doogee BL12000, Wileyfox Swift 2 Plus, Samsung S5 (each on different networks)
OS: Android v7 & 8.
App Version: all versions from November up to 2.26.2.
Comments
I must admit, I do think Prime is so much better than redacted once the muscle memory issue is overcome, but this freezing really irritates me. it make Prime unusable during an anomaly, and this hacking event just gets incredibly frustrating having to stop in the middle of the street waiting for Prime to restart.
Pixel 3, so not a low-end budget phone either!
I'm sitting on fiber backed wifi (literally a couple feet from the AP) and 2.27 locked up regularly during the few minutes I was checking repos after installing the update.
@Kadah Join the club. Yet everyone keeps telling us how great it is and so on. I can't wait to go try to throw a BAF in a low signal area once it's only Prime... (not).
Classic case in point: it's 19th July & the Scanner [Redacted] servers are offline but my Scanner [Redacted] (still loaded from yesterday) is responsive and can show my inventory even though there's nothing on the scanner for me to interact with - the UI is independent from the network responsiveness.
Now replicated with v2.27.
@EvilSuperHeros Oh I know this well. I tried to capture 2 portals last night using Prime (during Redacted's downtime) in a "low" signal area, which was 2-3 bars LTE with LOS to the tower about a mile away. Took several minutes to login, and several more minutes to get a single reso to actually deploy. Couldn't get any mods to deploy of any resos to stick on the other portal. Gave up 5 minutes not being able to get anything else to work and left.
I've been out to that slightly remote spot many times over the years for OPs. Redacted even on <100B/s edge there was never this bad. A year or so ago I even submitted the 2nd portal on Redacted and got the confirm email all while I was sitting there with Zello going and playing Pogo to **** time waiting for an OP's go time.
I can't even get Prime to sub a portal on the first 5 tries while at a local park that has a cell tower for my carrier...
It just seems those that are in rural areas/low signal areas are an afterthought for Niantic. Really sad as there are players out there that would love to play the game but are limited in what they can do.
I haven't experienced it yet, but someone posted this in a chat.
"every time you switch from 3g to LTE to WiFi it give you the toast error and you need to restart"
Just before I go to sleep I usually recharge my portals... as they keep growing in numbers it takes me more and more time.
I noticed that after 30 minutes of recharging (Samsung A8 2018 connected to my home wifi) the game will crash.
After restarting it works again but becomes slower every 5 minutes and after another 30 minutes it crashes again.
