What is a Basketball Court for OPR ?
In my area, we are seeing submissions for Basketball courts. Some of them are obvious - 2 Goals , painted lines on the ground. We are also seeing submissions that are a single goal - and there are painted lines, etc. We call them "Half Courts. We are also seeing a solo Basketball on a parking lot, with no lines defining a Court of any kind.
Obviously, the Full Court is a 5* slam dunk (pardon the pun) .
What about the Half Court, and the Parking lot . What would you say the criteria says / suggests for these submissions?

Half court is good in my opinion since it is the main intended activity still which is to function as an athletic field.
The parking lot basketball courts are definitely up for debate. For the most part they are easily accessible POI since you can even park at the court so pedestrian access is there. The main issue for this candidate is safety. There are a lot of portals at locations similar to it in fact those are probably the most popular locations to visit in all three of Niantics games but if it's an actively used space then having cars come park there isn't exactly a good thing. For the most part I still approve them but I knock down the safety rating because of how the space is a mixed use space.
The full court and half court would get a higher vote depending on how maintained it is. I have seen one that was half court but it look all be abandoned. That was a one star from me.
The parking lot is just a one star vote as far as I am concerned.
Depends in places, your half court in some places in mexico is considered full court because you know not everybody can have a full court around, so consider that too, some places are...poor than others even if it sounds harsh, same happen with soccer fields, tennis court, baseball fields, etc
the parking court ive never seen one, so i dont know about this, but i doubt playing around in a parking place is good
I have approved portals that are basketball and soccer courts at the same time. The lines painted on the floor indicate that. Once I verify safe pedestrian access, I approve the portal and positively value safety. I have never seen portals in car parks and if there were any, I would not approve them either. That cars get in and out of a place like that, is not a good thing for the players.
Yes but these are still accessible if you put the portal pin on the sidewalk or grass next to the goal it isn't that hard to figure out how to make it safe.
