You suggested targeting the person you’re having problems with. Thats called stirring the pot. Play the game how you want, but this entire thread reeks of drama and red flags. You’re a new agent and already having issues with a player, you’ve had one or two accounts suspended, etc.
There is literally only one active person playing in my area. I would need to leave town and play to not be playing on this guys turf. I thought targeting their most valuable points was what one was supposed to be doing. I really do feel after a lot of discussion and talking with people it won’t be hard to get a new account banned playing aggressively as I did. I probably hit targets in this area that may have hardly ever been in play simply because I happened to have access to these restricted areas. When I first noticed I had this advantage and then utilized this advantage, I won’t lie, I was having fun. Before I did it, I even asked other players if it was allowed for me to use these locations to create fields because I knew it was likely most if not all of the players did not had access or would ever get access. I think the last straw was when I created a large field over the whole area from three points I don’t think he had access to. Then boom like in a day or two I was not able to log into the app and the Intel map said my account was suspended.
Some portals that are hard to reach for example a small island where u need to take a boat to get there for example, if that is one of the first things a newly created account does for activity that will for sure raise some concerns if its legit play or not. Its not forbidden go to hard reach portals first you do but i would wait with that to not raise concern in comms. It could be a good idea try scan those portals first so the niantics anti-cheat systems doesnt flag you for spoof or something..
Seems weird they would ban if the takeover of portal was legit thats not against any ToS.
If Niantic banned you, they saw in their system that you did something wrong. Has nothing to do with other agents.
Maybe you should take a look at your device. Have you ever played another Geo location game where you did something to alter your location? Is that software still on your device? Did you use such software when playing Ingress? Is it possibly still enabled in some way if such software is on your device. If you did "air raids" with your pogo account...sigh
The above things have caused other agents to get banned in the past. Not saying you did any of those things, but something to think about or check into.
If that were the case then why would Niantic even have a reporting system and why would players who know the process well take the time to report. They at least knew it would initiate an investigation and probably savy enough to know there were enough red flags to point out to allow Niantic to come to the conclusion to suspend the account.
Agents have the ability to bring it to Niantic's attention. Niantic checks their internal logs or data that we can't see. They make their own decision.
I can report anyone I want to. But if Niantic see's nothing wrong, nothing will come of it.
Its like report someone to Police for a crimes, needs evidence if niantic can see something is weird in their systems which we agents cant that is when they take action.
Nia ops do have access to the Wayfarer database for viewing scan history
It is up to them to use due diligence when reviewing spoofing reports to review the scan history, and review the scan data to ensure that it matches what is on record
If they are not doing this, this is a separate issue, quite a serious issue if they are not applying due diligence when reviewing reports.
I am surprised at the number of people reach out to with similar situations. I know it is hard to believe for some in the community, but accounts are getting banned by those who are not cheating. This probably is not a problem if you have an account that is older. It seems for accounts that are few months old or newer, that received reports of suspicious activity and have been involved with interactions on durable portals are getting banned. There is also no opportunity to try and prove otherwise through the appeal process. Even when players who made the report reach back out to let Niantic know they were incorrect on their report because they received proof from the player they reported. So aggressive play on a new account can be a reason for an account getting terminated.
I don’t disagree. Niantic seems to be terminating accounts if it fits certain criteria. That seems to be if an account is reported they will investigate. They is no real appeal process, and they will terminate the account with out a reason why. If you have a new account it seems red flags will be enough to get an account terminated regardless if they cheated or not. Unless someone has direct contact with Niantic Ops to know otherwise that seems to be the case from my personal experience and others with new accounts that were terminated.
Not at all, Ingress and Pokémon Go are wholly developed by Niantic, the dev teams and their support teams have access to a variety of existing and in-house developed tools to analyze various data.
The Ops teams handling tickets do have access, but are PROBABLY (ie I have no proof) told not to use said tools when reviewing spoofing tickets, instead relying on information passed to them.

Ok . I guess I never scanned portals.
Yeah, especially if it is a remote wayspot
Spending a little time to do a scan can save you from the griefing.
You can upload the scan later, when you are at home or have access to lots of free data

No they won't.
They don't use it for removing portals especially.
If you want to share it, what is your play area and what was the portal you destroyed?

Scanning will not do anything. Niantic Ops does not have access to scan data. Scan data goes to Lightship.
It's like we're having the same conversation in multiple threads. Ahhhh I'm so confused.
Yes hit me up in telegram @Mjh2522 . I will share the information.

Negative. This is soo untrue. One has nothing to do with the other.

When we login we send alot data from our phones

False. They ban based on fast track reports only and some cases are being abused.
They. are. not. going. to. use. scanning. data.
If that was the case, they would already be starting to now.

Once again, players cannot ban other players. Niantic opens their own investigation and take action based on what they find.

False
Using Scanned data is already in use.
Analyzing said data is in use.
Reviewing the data in the database is accessible to them.
Unless you believe Niantic staff are lying. Which they are not.
Niantic has filed patents and they have been granted.
You are welcome to read their patents
And research papers
@Grogyan do not assume that all Niantic staff has access to that data.
The team working on AR implementation would. The Ops agents handling Ingress support tickets don't.
You make it sound like anyone employed by Niantic has access to that data.
This is not due diligence!
And pray tell, how do you know what tools Ops has access to? Did they tell you?
Patents are trademarking the specific technology 🤦♂️
