What are some efficient ways to kick out cheating users?

I been a consistent poster on that forum as well.

This user is still playing there today with a large number of accounts.

As of this moment, the number of accounts this user has continues to grow by the day, with a steady stream of accounts containing (expletive) agent names from both factions.

Of course, we know that the best way to do this is with the help of our support team.

However, the responses I always get are so canned that I wonder if they've done any research since I contacted support.

Again today, we saw this user using multiple accounts to create items and then transferring them to their own account.

I wonder how long Niantic will allow this behavior to continue.

At the very least, shouldn't these users be managed intensively?

If you look at Intel maps and see the same account and multiple accounts at certain times every day, it's suspicious even to a casual user, but moderators ignore it.

niantic don't care, reported a lot of backpack that just up lvl 8 and then do nothing but deploy 1r8 on same portals. all similar names. they still aren't banned

  • I have inquired about these accounts hundreds and thousands of times, but they have not been processed.

I strongly question Niantic's ability to handle them.

It's getting more and more common to see players using multiple accounts. There's nothing you can do to stop it. Many players have left the game because of it. I can give Niantic a list of players in my area that have multiple accounts and actively play with them and they will do nothing about it. It's accepted as legit gameplay. So why fight it? The game simply isn't what it used to be. So play for you and ignore everyone else. Otherwise it will make you bitter about the game.

This. It is not accepted as legit gameplay. And never should be.

The stronger the community, the more clear message you can send to cheaters that this is not allowed.

You do realize that some communities accept them right? It's rampant in my area and accepted. It depends on the community.

They won't ever touch multi accounters. Just watched a guy step out of his car with two phones to attack my portal, while I'm standing 10 feet from his car.

No surprise these are the kinds of players that also make dirty portals. I had to move heaven and earth to get a fake clay face on a tree in his back yard removed.

  • Same here 🤣

Even Niantic approved appeal from spoofer that totally spoofing

I just see an account i reported back to alive after 2x banned 😂

  • It's always been on the community of an area to manage the community's attitude towards spoofing. People who get pushed away by both teams in an area, generally get bored after a while and quit.

So as always, the problem is community acceptance.

Never rely on Niantic to nanny your community, since they never will.

One thing that I've been made aware of.

Someone will create a second account, do some actions on that account to give it a few thousand AP, then leave it. Making it appear someone has started, then decided not to play anymore.

The second account is then used as a backpack to store extra items for their main account. Transferring items between the two.

This is why I think all accounts Lv8 and below should be subject to re-verification after a certain amount if time, if no physical actions providing AP are undertaken.

This may be in the form of an e-mail, that you have to click a link to 'reactivate' the account. Or prompting the user to go into the app to re-verify the account in the game settings.

Accounts that are not re-verified show as "inactive" on the profile page.

"This is why I think all accounts Lv8 and below should be subject to re-verification after a certain amount if time, if no physical actions providing AP are undertaken."

This will only cause them to take the minimum actions to maintain the account.

  • It will still increase the cost of cheating, I would still support that even the effectiveness is limited.

  • There are automated scripts to take accounts to level 8 and stop there. That's been around for a long time. Going to level 9 isn't going to be much harder.
