×2 Tuesdays, working with other factions

I know, outside of FS events, working with the other faction is frown on. However, with the x2 Tuesday event every week, it has created a weekly gathering of both factions at a local cluster where we battle for portals and beacons. (Close to home and work for a number of agents). However, there are some who feel this doesn't fit well with the don't fight to win rule.

What's the consensus?

Isn't that what the game is about anyway? I don't see what the problem would be. Play the game and have fun. Be thankful you have an opponent you can do this with.

I suppose it depends on exactly what's being done at these "events" each week. If you're coordinating build/destroy methods, then I'd say there is reason for other agents to question the intent or motive.

I'm looking at comms messages from your area and it does seem like at least someone thinks your wintrading on some level. How many agents from each faction are present? Is it just you and someone from the other faction?

It's complicated. Today, I saw a smurf heading towards me, and when they arrived I threw down a bb. Unplanned by both sides. Played until I lost, and got on my train home. However, that town used to organise for x2 Tuesday which is the cause of the arguments. This was my first time to the city for a x2Tuesday and isn't my local play area.

I think I'm asking questions because I think many of us have seen folks come into the forums, posting vague accounts of an incident and hoping they can be on the right side of an argument. Your first post makes it seem like it's something you've done many times, your second posts says it's the first time you've been present.

That being said, I know some agents like to think they're the police and accuse agents of any little thing they think is wrong or illegal. Ingress Karens are real and very annoying.

I don't think you've posted enough information for anyone to say whether or not you're wintrading.

  • This game is good as dead, why care about wintrading anymore? Do their extra ap hurt anyone? At least they have fun.

I think that’s the point of Battle Beacons though? Though this was unplanned you could plan a small local event for the next one and say where you’re deploying Battle Beacons and that should be okay?

  • If you really battle for portals and beacons (i.e. you build strong portals with shields and recharge them), it's not win trading. If you build weak portals to destroy and re-capture and gain AP, that would be win-trading.

In addition, bad monologue and/or dialogues over the COMMS also show it is an obvious cover-up for win trading activities out there. Just saying...

Some folks have seen **** that makes them leery.

I know that if I see two agents opposite me on the board close by I am going to be guarded about what's next.

Nobody cares about Recursion either. Who wants to work hard to level up again like a hamster with insignificant rewards?

Who honestly cares anymore? Anomalies are essentially sanctioned win trading events. Go for it.
