Since the update the game crashes and I can't play it, I found here that by uninstalling and going back to the old version I could play normally, but now the game forces me to update and it crashes when I start it so I can't play anymore😢

same here. Cubot R19 as reported already, 2.122.2 worked (until force update), 2.123.1 and 2.123.2 crash. No working version any more.
Why, niantic? How should I get my streak back?
Can you please share what specific Android phone you're using, and what Android version you're on?
I have the same problem since version 2.123.1 and now in 2.123.2.

Another one here with the same problem after updating to version 2.123.2.
Before this update it worked fine.

The same problem.
After updating to the version 2.123.2 the app crashes while starting. Loading till logo of Ingress and crashes. The device is Redmi A1+, Android 12, 4G, Ingress 2.123.2. All system components are updated and actual.
I have also tried another device: BQ-6051G, Android 11, Wi-Fi and the same result.

This is a 2014 device.
Probably a good idea to look for a more modern mobile
The bulk of devices on multiple threads seem to indicate that they are just really old, and Lightship requires more modern mobiles.
The other end of the spectrum is devices that are less than 2 years old.
I am using a Galaxy S21 Ultra Exynos 2100, a device from 2021, and have no issues.
Nia should update real minimal requirements for Ingress.
Not just "more modern", but more powerful. As an example ZTE blade A7 2020 from similar topic was released in (surprise) 2019,and my Samsung S8 and J7 2017 came from 2017,but ZTE crashing and both Samsung work. Even more,that ZTE has a bit quicker cpu but slower gpu.
It was some problem with "weak gpu" in 2.123.1 which should be fixed in 2.123.2 but seems to be fix is buggy enough,too.
New update, 2.124.1 and the problem persists, the application failing to start.
This will be like this forever or will you try to correct this error
The same here continues the same, there is no other option than to leave the game and drop my portals that I was enduring more than 500 km in which I invested time, money, gasoline .......thanks for nothing ingress
