[request] block agents in forum

We all know there is a requirement for this. Being able to block posts and comments of an agent from appearing is a required feature

Comments

  • Yes, agree that should have been implemented at launch. Participants should not have to request this feature or wait for it.

  • @crewellye If they dont have an issue list.... then this is certainly one way to massively populate, and have a priority of each.

that was a problem on g+ too.

as for appeal a lot were blocking / deleting post of agent who were proving that OP was wrong.

And as appeal seems to come here too no agent should be censored for this matter.

    For general discussion.. yes.

The ability to block agents is highly needed. Please activate this feature.

The need to block an agent for comments or posts that are against the Ingress Community Guidelines are not needed. That is the reason for the flag button. If an agent makes an inappropriate comment or discussion post then it can be marked as abuse, spam, or report. The comment will be deleted after some mysterious requirement is met and if there are enough flags eventually banned from the site.

  • Found an “Ignore list” setting in my profile.

I guess it has just been implemented?

You can set a maximum of 5 names in this list.

@NianticMac looks like this is answered...

  • The guidelines state:

    • Never defame, abuse, ****, harm, ****, or threaten another player.
    • Be respectful towards other players. You can share an opposing idea without being rude or offensive.

Sometimes agents have experiences with agents that may not break TOS but certainly means they don't want to deal with that person. Considering that the game has a block function (presumably for a similar reason) then it is logical that this feature is brought to the forum.

I'd hate to think that an agent who has considered themselves harrased having to see that person reply to their posts here.

@CriminalBizzy Your example of portal appeals makes sense but also forgets that NIAOPS is making the final decision, not the poster.
