I had an interesting experience in Japan.

This object was called ‘Monument to make the north exit of Machida Station a vibrant place’.(町田駅北口を活気溢れる場所にするモニュメント)

The portal was named ‘MetalMyoga’ (japanese Ginger) by the Agent.

It was also transmitted to the creator of the object as “MetalMyoga”, and the name was officially adopted as “MetalMyoga”.

The explanation board in the photo is written in Japanese as follows.

This monument was created as a symbol of the revitalisation of the north exit of Machida Station in 2012

It was created as a symbol of the revitalisation of the north exit of Machida Station in conjunction with the renovation of the Grandeur Building.

The entire piece is finished with the ‘Monroe Curve’, which mimics the body proportions of Marilyn Monroe, known as the ‘ideal curve of beauty’, and the reflection of the sun and blue sky on the metal surface gives the image of white waves at the head of a grand tourbillon, which resembles a sailing ship.

After its installation, it appeared in the portal of the location-based role-playing game Ingress.

The name ‘Metal Myoga’ was spontaneously coined by players after it appeared in the portal of the ‘Pokémons GO’ game.

The process of transformation into a symbol representing the region, beyond the intentions of the creators, is indeed a process of regional revitalisation itself, which is why the monument has been officially named ‘Metal Myoga’.
