Quantum capsules/portal keys

in General
Please excuse my ignorance if this has already been raised.
with the retiring of our Quantum capsules, being replaced with kinetic capsules, how the hell am I going to propagate my portal keys?
This decision is ludacris.

Go to portal. Glyph for moar keys. Repeat until you have enough.
Honestly I don't even care what kind of capsules we get. Literally the only thing I want from ingress is the ability to CHARGE KEYS INSIDE A CAPSULE
Key dupe programs will be available in the coming days!
Don't you mean soon tm
this. laziness shouldn't be rewarded
But please don't forget that gameplay allowed for keys to be exchanged and that's how ops were done before capsules were a thing.
Once upon atime, before Niantic got greedy for corporate sponsorship and ruined the core of the game, duplication didn't exist and agents abided by the tag line....
'Agents it's time to MOVE'
not sit on couch complaining about things that weren't happening...
Sure, do you have that project key that it's a major pain to get to????
So, that explains the phrase "Time to Move" we've seen on the Ingress t-shirts we bought. Some badges on the t-shirt were retired before we got into this game.
Why would you include a hard-to-access key in your ops anyway? Simply to make it more difficult to take down? It will be a waste of time and other resources.
@Mirthmaker I have a fair number of them, yes, many that I've gotten from going to that place that's a major pain to get to, sometimes with a satellite phone because there's no cell service.
@Otrera35 If I put together an op that is going to involved 20-200 people to pull off then I want my opponents to have to make a non-trivial effort to take it down, not knock it over five minutes after we put it up. If someone wants to take it down they can hike up that mountain just like we did. They can drive a couple of hours to get to the small, out-of-the-way town or the ghost town in the middle of the desert just like we did. They might want to bring a satphone for the ghost town, or have their phone on the only carrier that works in the small town.
@Hosette, so you want rival agents to undergo the same path or journey and utilize the same resources to take down an imaginary triangle ops your group made? There is an element of narcissism in that intent because of the scoreboard. Others would point out that it's better to take an imaginary triangle down faster by a rival agent so you can rebuild quicker and get the badge or level up more quickly.
Sigh
???? Sigh, because of spoofers? We used to travel and take down strategic anchors, but we don't do it anymore with all the inflation and waste of resources like time and fuel.
it's ok for hard to reach anchors.
but multiplying those keys without anymore effort is not fair though
@Khatre I don't disagree.
The problem is that there are hard/impossible to reach anchors that are controlled by one faction and they already have hundreds or thousands of keys floating around. Removing duplication of keys is a good step, but it when there's a ten-year supply of keys floating around it really doesn't make much difference.
@Hosette, don't tell me that there are players out there who have Hoarding Disorders that they have at least ten years' supply of portal keys? Niantic should disable the impossible-to-reach portals to even out the playing field.
hard to reach portal are far less annoying than one faction only controled portal like those on military or company ground.
employee only portals shouldn't exist at all.
seasonal or hard trekking portal are ok if you need to actually go there to get keys for ops
Adapt, Accept, Overcome.
AKA Go to the portal, hack new keys. If you can't go to the portal, plan a different field. Hacking gives an unlimited number of keys, within the strictures of burnout.
If it's a major pain to get to, the key is precious. Don't waste keys you can't easily replace. If it's a major pain for you, it's a major pain for them. If it's not a major pain for them but is for you... it's a horrible key to use in your fields.
This is the problem with Quantum dependence. People can't think outside of rigid repetitive fields.
Yes, employee-only portals should not exist because everyone cannot access those specific portals. I was looking for another way to access one anchor, which is inside a company-owned building, but only employees can access it. The odd thing was how can different agents from the same faction possibly deploy resonators in that compound even though they were not company employees.
Yes portals in military and employee only areas have ran many people off from the game. When you can't take down a field because it's not in a public place then the game is broken. But really Niantic just doesn't care why people are leaving. There are other games out there that don't have those restrictions. Ingress has become the most expensive driving game out there. When comparing games there's more cons than pros to Ingress. The cost and restrictions to the game are huge deterrents. I'm not even sure why military portals are even allowed, you can get pictures and coordinates of buildings and equipment within restricted areas. Kinda feels like a homeland security issue.
