on the day that Niantic really fights flying and multi-accounts, I wouldn't even be a bad idea, but as Niantic practically does nothing to inhibit these types of cheats as much as possible, this idea of yours will only encourage those who already do these cheats more to get keys flying to the portals, even more if he knows that it's rare to get even the 3G in the place.
todays announcement and still no decision on what the new recipes for the kinetic capsules will be has got to be the most idiotic business decision I have seen, short of what Elon Musk is doing to **** twitter.
For a business that is game based, you need to have a complete vision for going forward, one that offers a reward to your customer base. Especially when you make an announcement that is going to upset a fairly decent portion of your existing customer base. Never forget the stick and carrot process!
If niantic decides to let the kinetics produce keys, a good thing might be to adjust the walking distance to the distance of the portal. Like say you want to craft 3 keys to your sofa, loading the capsule at home. Walk 1 km and have 5 keys to your sofa.
Want to craft a key to an anchor 10 miles away, maybe walk 10 km and get 5 keys?
or something like that. Numbers are all made up, so dont take the numbers litteraly..
Truly disappointed. Why doing this? You're just basically killing all the fun of playing Ingress for the whole 10 years. Over the past I was so motivated by Ingress and explore everywhere and meet many nice people, but now? What's left now? I see neither fun in game nor in reality. All the changes these few years are just basically letting more and more players leave. Truly sad. I really miss the old time when we had so many fun with the legacy scanner which you just killed and replaced by "Prime". I really don't like it, I miss the scanner... I miss the old friends... I miss the old ages when we have so many ways of playing the game... It's all gone, ALL. I don't see any reason to play Ingress anymore... I still remember, the capsule was called MUFG at the beginning... I also miss the Lawson Cube, and SoftBank Link... So sad, so so so sad. I highly doubt whether I can find a similar game in the future which can bring me so many good times in the past... The answer could be probably simply a no. All my old times dead, thank you NIA.
I have 18 Qcaps at the moment, and I use them for duping all sorts of things, from common mods (engineer badge!) to all levels of resonators to keys. I usually get about 20-30 items per week out of them. If I am instead given one kcap each, that is only 60 uses max, before i run out, and i can only run 7 at a time max, and each usually takes a couple of days minimum. I save my hackable kcaps for times i really want to use them, but mostly keep them charged with 40x R1 recipe ready for when i run out.
Unless you are making kcaps havea lot more uses each, and drop a lot faster, you are taking away really ripping us off. Also, its more inventory space used for the 'same' result.
I get that this means that backpack account dont have the same usefulness of farming, since now they need to get some km on them to dupe anything, but it punishes the players who aren't cheating as well as those who are. gettign Qcaps is always a "hey cool", getting kcaps is not.
Kcaps need recipes for duping items at a fixed rate (10 to get 11?) for every currenlty dupe-able item before you make this change. changing R8s into R1s is not equivalent to having a cap with R1s and getting more.
A pandemic happened, and people got used to playing alone.
So you're argument is that because things changed nothing should change? Sorry, but you're in a self defeating argument. Changes to the game to reintroduce successful aspects that a failed feature suppressed is not a bad thing.
In part, there are fewer agents because QCs removed a reliance on teamwork when Agents happily made a dozen accounts and replicated everything they needed. No need to build P8s that can be attacked if you have 3 accounts pumping out X8s. No need to use accessible portals for links if you have a key factory to inaccessible ones.
QCs were bad for the game, and hopefully once the vast stockpiles of illegitimately created items are burnt down, we might get back to a game where people see the benefit of actually recruiting again (Niantic never did the recruiting) and the game can rise in player counts so that people complaining that there are no others will instead see other agents.
The game was damaged by QCs. The game losing QCs is a net improvement.
We feel the same way. Got put off doing missions because of our safety. Niantic decided to stop the ability to farm safely and legitimately through its QCs so its struggling store could generate revenue from its XMPs (8). The move dampened the enthusiasm to take down huge fields before fielding. Some would argue one can still get XMPs from a Level 6 portal, but it's only a handful. Btw, never duped a key with QCs because it's super slow anyway. The once-enjoyable game has turned into a money-grabbing and stale one.
Money grabbing is just the tip of the iceberg. The game is so gone and **** that they have to resort to a monthly subscription service and directly selling badges for money. This game is far from exciting anymore and I can't believe I put up with it as long as I did. Pokemon GO is the next on the chopping block with the way they are milking players.
Playing alone is better for one's safety rather than increasing one's risk of interacting with a sociopath or psychopath out there. There are a lot of benefits to playing alone like less drama, no egos to put up with, less micromanagement, and of course safety when you have to deal with psychos out there. Gameplay has been a peaceful existence.
Off-topic, but a lot of people made their own 6 missions, and just do those 6 over and over for Second Sunday. You can use portal pictures for badges, because it's easy. (Right-click on the portal picture, save to computer, maybe straighten it up and pop the color.)
No-one will join because MUFGs don't exist... You clearly read it all and understood none of it.
MUFG's not existing will have an effect on the existing players to get off their a** and start working on recruiting again because those existing players need to. Recruiting has always been a factor of existing player's desire and effort. MUFGs meant they could care less about new players, because their "P8s" were in backpack accounts.
That's changed now (or will be when they burn that gear down).
We retired from doing mission banners because it's predictable, and you never know if there is a **** out there. Proud to say that ENL agents authored the mission banners we completed. Haven't made an exemption to that rule.
I haven't met any psychopaths in all these years of Ingress.
Most psychopaths disappeared because they could not stand the loneliness.
In Ingress, such players are rarely taken seriously.
But I see them every day around Pokémon GO gyms.
They want to be rewarded 50 Pokécoins a day for their respective colored accounts and play as free as possible except for their main account, so they swap gyms every eight hours with fellow psychopaths.
And when a Pokémon trainer who is playing right tries to break that collusion they rush to the gym and surround the player.

"Regular capsules"??
It could reduce the need for the extra 500 inventory items you get with C.O.R.E subscription.
Quantum Capsules will still work until they are deprecated and exchanged for regular capsules. Deprecation is targeted in the next 2-3 weeks.
I've already move everything out of my Quantums.
Had nothing needing duplication anyways. And will ensure that the items won't be accidentally lost during the change in 2-3 weeks
Surely Niantic wouldn’t mess this up…?
These.

Wow, yes, I know what capsules are.
I was just a bit surprised niantic called them "regular" instead of "rare".

del.
You mean like "rare" link amps are called link amps? Come on.

Used QC because I'm rural. Guess I won't be playing anymore. See ya'll later.

Haha.lol you actually think that niantic killing muffys will spur this great renaissance in recruiting?
All the potential players who were on the fence about ingress because of muffys existing will just come out of the woodwork and start playing?
If that isn't delusion I'm not sure what is.

It makes sense why the kinetic capsule would replace the quantum capsule. Can we get a portal key refinement option please?

i hope not, keys should only come for portal hack

If you're more worried about meeting psycopaths than meeting new friends, Ingress is not a great game for you. Also... American mindset is weird.
I don't know which planet you reside on, but please check the recent news.

That would be the psychopaths. Probably.
Ahh so it's a selfish thing to recruit so agents will have an easier time farming 8s.
You clearly don't understand the power of most agents' apathy. Now, if niantic resurrected the recruiter badge, now you're talking.
