Your Most Memorable Portal Submission. A 10 year Anniversary Post
Now I know this prompt could cause some bit of issues so I will nicely remind everyone to keep their post about a Portal that is family friendly and doesn't break TOS.
Onwards!!! Happy 10 years Agents! This thread is going to be dedicated to your most memorable Portal submission in the last 10 years! I know it can be a bit hard to pick just one, so if you want to post multiples, go ahead! (To be clear this needs to be a submission made in Ingress, not in other Niantic games as this is to celebrate the 10 year). I however, would like to know, what makes the Portal you have chosen your most memorable submission in the last 10 years? Does the Portal hold a special place in your heart? Does it have a memory to it you want to share? This is the chance to take these portals we have all submitted in our INGRESS travels and give them the story to why they submitted! I hope to see some wonderful stories posted here!
I want to hear your stories! If you have a suggestion for another great memory prompt, feel free to post a comment or make your own forum post! Let's share our amazing memories of the last 10 years!

In terms of ToS, as per Ingress Forum Guidelines, Wayfarer related general discussions should go to https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/categories/general-discussion
I'm not going to choose one portal but I'm going to choose one place. Back in early 2018 (before Wayfarer was even a thing, I might add), I visited one of my alma maters with another agent. When we opened up Ingress on the campus, we saw that there was only one portal on the entire campus. So, we wanted to right this wrong and began submitting portals. Between the two of us, 8 of our submissions were accepted. I now had enough portals on the campus to put a mission there, which I did, and ended up completing it later. Fast forward to today, other players from Ingress and PoGo have added even more portals to the campus and today it has 35 portals. These are the most memorable submissions to me because we took a campus that only had one lonely portal and populated it with submissions of our own, and then watched others come along to continue adding to it.
According to reactions to your reply, looks like users on this forum intentionally ignores the guidelines and the fact that discussions about portals on Ingress forum have been archived since 2021/Apr https://community.ingress.com/en/categories/wf . Just let them violate the rules as they want and take the consequence of being put on probation.
That's wonderful! Such a community building adventure. ❤
One reply above yours just mentioned that discussions about portals on this forum have been archived since 2021/Apr
Thanks for sharing a post on 2020/Mar to prove that and supplement my advises. That's very kind of you. Upvoted.
Here's mine. (Or one of...) I am from Australia and as a bonus I get to do business trips around the world. This one to Almaty, Kazakhstan. The guys at the office took me out one day and being a keen Ingressor noted that this was somehow NOT a portal! SUBMIT! (October 2018).
Here's me next to the statue of "The Golden Man, also referred to as the Golden Warrior, or in academic circles as ‘Kazakhstan’s Tutankhamun’, was discovered in Issyk in 1969. The luxurious decoration the golden man’s burial revealed a rich heritage of Steppe culture and civilization.
The Issyk mound is one of the greatest archaeological sites of the Sak period, and one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. The Golden Man was a youth from the circle of Saka Tigrahaud rulers. He was dressed in armour richly decorated with gold, and gold-embroidered ceremonial clothing; his headdress contains about 150 golden ornaments." This was a great day out.
And a close second...
Bronze statue formation near the Chinngis Khan horse memorial.
Oh my gosh this area is gorgeous!!!! Thank you for sharing this!
