Inflation gonna inflate
Quietly? I got a tweet notification about it. It doesn’t affect all countries however.
From the blog;
We know that changes to pricing and currency are impactful to our community across all Niantic games—Pokémon GO, Ingress and Pikmin Bloom—and we wanted to provide proactive notice that some players will experience an increase in in-game currency prices starting as early as Oct. 5.
This update is due to changes in App Store price tiers. We will also make similar changes on other mobile platforms. The following countries and regions will be affected:
While we will not be taking any immediate action in response to this change, we’ll be monitoring its impact and discussing how to navigate changing conditions globally.
Thank you for your understanding.
Yeah, @PkmnTrainerJ if it weren't for that tweet, I wouldn't have known, fortunately it doesn't affect me yet, but it does affect a log of other players
"This update is due to changes in App Store price tiers"
Why iOs appstore problems should affect Android users?
Fair and equality, Prices were different to begin with and people complained....
To clarify, the App Store increase is forced by Apple. Devs do not set prices of IAPs, only selecting certain tiers: https://developer.apple.com/news/?id=e1b1hcmv
Android on the otherhand...
They raised the price for vanity badges from 2000 to 2500 several events ago.
Now I think they've just recalculated based on currency rate. The price of the dollar is strong, so other countries' currencies don't mean as much against it. It was like giving them a discount.
The vanity badges, starting with the Halloween 2020 badge two years ago, have always been 2500 CMU.
