I have no way of knowing for sure, but this may have been the last photo that was ever taken of Joe.
A friend and I were on a road trip, and we stopped in California City on September 7 to have lunch with Joe. After lunch he said, "Let's go get some uniques!" We had time, so we hopped into his car and went on an incredible romp through the area with Joe talking up a blue streak the whole time. He showed us his airplanes, the place where he worked on set pieces and his friend did crazy Mad Max cars, and all sorts of other fun stuff. And the stories, oh the stories... Joe was many things, some good and some less-good, but he was never boring.
I was absolutely flabbergasted when I woke up two days later to discover that he'd left this world-- he'd been so exuberant when we saw him. Some friends encouraged me to make a mission based on our crazy romp with him, so I pulled up the comm activity and recreated our route. Delta102's Last Ride starts at Gloria's Fountain and retraces our steps on that memorable adventure. (And yes, I got special permission to have a mission that used an agent name and photo.)

What a great story. Sounds like a fantastic afternoon.
I got to meet Joe at Interitus Birmingham. He hung out with us at the after party.
Remember that time he used his influence to get a portal removed so it would **** a field and allow him to throw up a blocker?
