Exactly. It takes bloody forever after receiving the attack notification to load up the scanner and get to a point where you can actually recharge and defend the portal.
Turned those notifications off because even if I'm holding my phone, unlocked and immediately open the game the portal is long gone by the time I watch the globe spin and all that
If the game is still open and you manage to be in time, you can get two, maybe three recharges off and then you get to sit there and watch the portal get destroyed whilst the recharge button is greyed out. :D
I'm noticing more of a lag in notifications lately. Most of the time the portal is already captured before I get a notification that the portal is under attack. Makes destroying portals easier when people try to recharge. The lag helps in that way.

When you attack a portal in the middle of nowhere after staying silent at 11pm at night and it's instant recharged, something fishy going on.
I'd gladly give up quantum replication in exchange for opportunity to buy a couple of more key lockers.

Or you capture a difficult to access portal, and it's retaken within hours, and another 100 links added back to it.
