Adventure Sync - Rewards for levels of activity?
in General
Seeing as the Q1 events are pinned I looked at one section on it;
Adventure Sync: Weekly Summaries
We’ll double down on the Adventure Sync feature in Ingress starting with a weekly summary of your activity, then adding rewards for levels of activity achieved during the week. We hope weekly Adventure Sync summaries will give more Agents another reason to check back in with Ingress more frequently - similar to what we saw with the Hackstreak feature.
Is this planned to happen before the end of 2022, as it was mentioned at the start of it?

I wonder if they got the desired increase in activity.....
I don’t see why you wouldn’t have KCap on all the time?
seems they scraped this idea to give rewards based on how much u walk and moved on. whats the holdup if its really coming ? year 10 bonus ?
@PkmnTrainerJ For a long time my KCap was named "Waste of Space" because all of the recipes seemed to have a significantly negative ROI, or were useless to me. Three rare (shields, multihacks, heat sinks) have less value than one VR of the same category, and SBULs are junk mods for me. Then the hypercube recipe came along and that's seriously high-value-- I can turn 40K XM into 264K XM in a form that's easier to use and uses less inventory space. OK, in my case it's usually 70K-80K rather than 40K because I rarely have cubes below L7 but that's still massively +EV.
It's had for me to imagine turning five R8s into 40 R1s because I can hack that many R1s in no time flat if I ever need them... and I don't.
Also, hey @NianticBrian I note that the help file is out-of-date: https://niantic.helpshift.com/hc/en/3-ingress/faq/2749-kinetic-capsules/?han=1
That’s fair but I would guess based on previous gameplay comments, you may be a bit of an exception with this.
Happy to see if others agree/disagree with either of us though.
Maybe they can fix the weekly summaries so they don't pop up multiple times on the weekly summaries?
@PkmnTrainerJ There are certainly plenty of not-Hosette people who would find the SBUL program useful.
The math on shields and hack mods just doesn't work out. One rare shield has +40 damage mitigation, and one VR has +60. Why would anyone invest +120 mitigation plus a dab of gear and a bunch of walking to produce a single item with +60 mitigation? Likewise for RMH->VRMH you're investing +8 * 3 to get one +12. I get that it's one mod on the portal instead of two, but that's sort of balanced out by the ability to spread the mods between multiple portals.
As for R8->R1, if you have any sort of portal density it takes maybe three minutes to hack 40 low-level resos. I can grok people doing it if they have no other use for the KCap.
[edit: This is the sort of nerdy analysis you get from a former professional gambler]
My thought on the hack mods is that you can only put two total mods on any one portal. In a low portal density area, or an area where portals get killed fairly quickly by the other team and you can't keep P8s, having a few more hacks on one portal is better than more total hacks spread across many. If there are plenty of portals and/or your team can make a rolling farm you don't need hack mods at all.
@Fanatic8099 Certainly there are corner cases.
Basically, I think the math on the R->VR programs is wrong. It should be three rare plus tax plus walking to get three VR, not one.
Good math. I've also used this math:
Sure, SOMETIMES I need a VR's functionality. But I keep a few in capsules for when I do.
How would that be a choice then? Personally I converted all of mine because VR is simply better, and I have so many VR that there's no point quibbling about Rares because I don't run out.
If it was a clear upgrade with no questions, there wouldn't be a cost or reason to choose.
@Perringaiden There is always e a choice about how best to invest your finite KCap resources.
I still think that investing three items that have impact X, plus tax and walking, too get a return that is less than 3X is a bad deal.
The hypercube recipe is exactly the opposite in that you invest ten items that have impact X, plus tax and walking, and the return is five items that total more than 10X.
There’s a thread on Reddit regarding this also now.
maybe its a 10 year anniversary feature ?
Would be nice. Odd to mention at the start of Q1 and then nothing until November though I guess.
I feel that is true for most of what is mentioned by niantic. Including the 'tentative fixes' that never work and are never heard of again. :/
Q1 2022: “We are working on it and will update you shortly!”*

Yup. Same with the map not loading completely on startup, they implemented a tentative fix like 2 years ago that didn't work and we never heard from it again.
Heck, the client can't even display the time in the right format, it was changed with an update, reported as a bug and has not been fixed, I mean how hard can it be to have the game respect the phone's regional setting, ****.
This was mentioned during this post in February.
I haven’t yet seen any indication of this.
Well, they have.
Done everything except
Doing in-camera AR. Which, was a stretch anyways, because the VPS system wasn't enabled for actual game devs to use until October. Brian Mentioned that they are still prototyping game features using VPS, with something coming around Spring 2023.
The large concensus is that Ingress is going to be the first game to use VPS in earnest, though Peridot is still in development and they may have other priorities then to use VPS. Once Ingress uses it, Pokémon GO will finalize their feature set with VPS.
It's been hinted at in the code for teardowns. You already know VPS is tested and that's game agnostic. Isn't the 7 and 13 scans literally the portal scan meters?
Dude...are you doing any critical thinking here? Come on.
So @NianticThia says it’s just a summary right now. Wonder when it’ll change.
Especially with the focus on KCaps with the Quantum vanishing in a few weeks.
Is fitrep rewards scrapped? seems they havent figured out a few basic rewards like in pogo 1 year later..... for now this popup has no useful function....
I’d hope they do something with it. It would be great to get even small rewards for the walking.
it reminds me that adv sync is disable after each time i have to clear data 🤣
Fitrep is annoying. I've seen it 4x this morning.
Would sure be nice if Niantic spent some time completing their new features that they release instead of just pumping out new half finished features repeatedly.
