Restrict links under fields to certain Access Level

This function was implemented to let new players to gaining AP. However, it's only abused by high level and multiple-times recursed players, who do nothing and play under fields. Aren't they be the one who actually should be hunting bigger area fields? Allow only players to like 10-12 AL and never recursed player to have those benefits because this game went dead-brain.

  • I like it very much to be able to link on my way to work without caring about "bigger area fields", despite having recursed a few times.

Can i repeat my suggestion to make underfield linking possible if sbul/la/vrla is installed? xD

BTW haven't faced any "abuse" of this feature for now,and despite i am against underfield linking (as is now) - it really adds some movement to the game.

No. Why do that to discourage new agents?

We have this thing to bring you to the game, and make it so you can play even if under a massive field. But I am afraid @V4Flower doesn’t like it so we’ve had to turn it off. Good luck!

    Oh, you’re uninstalling…

I like it because I can make big fields without annoying my microfielding team-mates.

Personally, I’ve noticed that the ability to make large fields are mostly “abused” by high level and multiple recursed agents.

It's just too easy to field over a large area. It makes the game “dead brain”.

Therefore, we should limit players of level 13+ and recursed to a maximum link distance of 500 m.

If that sounds ridiculous, then you have an inkling of what I think about your suggestion.

  • This function was demanded by high level players who wanted to gain AP without clearing fields. The excuse was "new players", but that was never why they wanted it.

Agree- Would also like to see a list of cities with 100k+ people perma fielded over vs non fielded.

  • Absolutely, I want to gain wings on my MC medal without having to clear fields of my own faction. Thanks again to Niantic for this long overdue improvement.

  • I think it would be more accurate to say that it was requested by high level foot based microfielders who didn’t want to be required to drive large distances to take out fields that were usually put up by players that play primarily by car.

this change has shifted the balance, slightly, away from allowing car ingress players from totally blocking foot based ingress players.

Car based players will still easily dominate MU, it’s just that they now can’t totally block microfielders at the same time.

I'd say to be more accurate, it was requested by players, data was evaluated by Niantic, playtested multiple times, and found that it would be beneficial to make limited fielding available.

You don't get things by demanding, you identify a problem, back it with data, and explore options to bring about change fairly. Some, reject any/all change and should be left in the past, for they're not going to help you make your future.
