Almost perfect candidates

Strong candidate(ex: park) but has spelling mistake in the title.

Strong candidate(ex: religious place) but dark portal photo(taken in night time)

Another recent pattern, perfect candidate but has watermark(like phone name, model or date and time stamp)

How do judge these candidates? Should i go with "it can be corrected later" or "Agent will have to re-nominate!"

  • @Patka07 "With watermark I give 1*, it was covered in AMA I think."

1 star for "Should this be a portal?" and then select what?

For watermark i would probably 1* Low Quality Photo if it's just from the phone.

Any other watermark e.g. from Googlemaps would be Third Party Photo

If there's a mistake in title, if it's still obvious what it means I would still rate overall highly and take a star off "Is the title correct"

For a nighttime photo as long as I can see it and identify it I would rate as usual.

A submission not being optimal is still ok as long as you're happy it should be a portal and it passes guidelines

  • for example i hate when people submit a park ( right , and i approve ) but also submit the four side of that too,, example:

little park with kids playground. = accepted

north, east ,west, sud entrance of little park... what sense have this submission?

  • What about "PLEASE MAKE IT A GYM IF POSSIBLE, THERE IS LACK OF GYMS HERE! WE WILL BE GRATEFUL TO YOU FOR THIS." In Desc. Would have ignored under "Submission Statement".

If it is in the description, it is an automatic rejected because it has nothing to do with the POI and it references one of Niantic's games. If it is part of the "Submission Statement", it should just be ignored and the nomination evaluated on its own merits.

I agree with Accepting the portal with misspelling , and give it a 2-3 stars on Title .

Dark Picture - if you can't see the object then 1* rejection. If you can see the object, but it's hard to **** details, then 2-3 Stars. There might not be a picture taken to replace it .

    Watermark : 1* rejection.

Submission Statement - I would ignore it, and judge it only on Ingress Criteria.

Agree that mentioning gyms or portals in the description (not submission statement) should be 1star. Its sad to see a 5* submission be rejected, especially when a photo or description can be changed, but these are Niantics guidelines and I follow like the good little OPR **** I am.

Same goes with emojis, license plates in photos etc. I just wish submitters could see why it was rejected so they can submit again avoiding those mistakes, especially when it would normally get 5*.

  • What do you think if OPR agents could e-mail/message the agent stating the reason for rejection..? Seems like it would work much better than the current system in implication.

That would be open to abuse.

The best implementation I can think of would be for Nia to include all of the Rejection reasons given, as a percentage, not an actual count.

This obviously would only help those rejected with 1*'s, others that just don't get a decisive answer would still be an issue.

Definitely not perfect. Not even close also the title would be accurate.

    Check it

You only need tampermonkey to use the script that is provided.

I think is fine to use this.

There is a telegram group to chat of it -> https://t.me/oprtools
