Improve OPR!

Hi everyone, special Hi to Niantic employees,

It's been almost 3 weeks since Pokestop submissions went live in Germany (german is my mother tongue, so i apologize in advance for any mistakes). The PoGo community in my city is pretty big (50.000 citizen, ~100 still active PoGo players, 5 active ingress players). Not a single one of these PoGo players got a response on their stop submissions yet and they starting to get naggy. It is not really a surprising development when you consider that the processing time was up to several months before the PoGo Update. Now you guys released a third game that is based on our portal system. I hope that I don't have to stress any further how important our OPR work is to keep making you **** rich!

And what do we get for doing your work? Nothing. This needs to change!

It is easy to criticise, so here are my ideas to improve the system!

- Give us CMU for our work! OPR is work and if you want the agents to do your work, pay them! For every OPR agreement give us 100 CMU. This sounds much? Not really. You can do round about 60 analysis in an hour. 15 € is a appropriate payment for a hour. So this makes 0,25 € per analysis. Give us 0,05 € of the 0,25 €. Looking at the biggest bundle in the shop 0,01 € equals 18,2 CMU. Not every analysis will be an agreement, so even 100 CMU per agreement is a ridiculous payment.

- Give out real rewards for doing the OPR work, not just a badge. For every 10 OPR agreements increase the agents items space by 1. So if you manage to get 10.000 OPR agreements, your inventory will store 3000 items then.

- Give us a detailed overview for our work, a history tap, where we can see if we got an agreement on our analysis or whether the process hat not yet been completed. This would be so informative and we could learn so much from it to make better analyses!

- Give the agent or trainer who submitted a portal at least a hint, why the submission was rejected. Just take randomly one of the reasons why the OPR team rejected the submission and add this to the mail the agent / trainer gets.

- Add an option to report a agent / trainer who submits fake portals. When an agents / trainers submission is rejected because of fake portal abuse for the tenth time, reject all of their submissions and block the possibilty to submit for 3 month.

Thanks for reading.

  • 3 weeks are still low time, when you submit a portal , sometimes you need a few months or several days , when you submit another one check the automatic message on your e-mail there is the same thing write into it. Don't leave the hope hold on 😉

I couldn't agree more with you. (not in all, but good ideas)

OPR has been for ages a hard work for all agents, this should change, also with poketrainers doing submissions most of them, duplicated or without value.

I think the extra items for agreements it's unbalanced i prefer this never happens, 2000 items + key lockers is enough for the game and is part of the game.

But the best part is that they should improve their rejects emails and put the button for report some submissions/edits.

So, submitters crying because no no reviews their submissions? Hey, get to L12 and help out, we're all doing free work here!

The original poster was getting complaints from pogo players in Germany who have been submitting pokestops and not getting responses after 3 weeks. At the moment pogo players do not have the option to review in OPR, so was trying to make suggestions about how to improve the speed of portal reviews.

portal reviews are getting to the point it is taking too long 4 weeks is too long portals should be processed in a matter of a week to 2 weeks max. I think it is very dumb that we have to wait 30+ days on portals when it takes 1 day to remove an invalid portal. I think the system is breaking due to the amount submissions has doubled in countries that haven't had pogo go live and probably 3x or more in pogo eligible to submit countries. Either they need to add more reviewers, give more incentives such as double upgrade weekends, or make great reviewer status have more effect and if a park has a lot of yes and 5* with no pin move or comments saying it was abuse it should go live fast tracked. Also we need first in first out not last in first out. so if someone keeps submitting trash portals in their area they are just shoving valid portals to the back of the line and basically clogging OPR. We should be voting oldest first along with rural prioritization and upgrades would throw the protal to a higher priority on par with rural. I also dislike how OPR has been continually grabbing my most recently done submissions for upgrades and I can't even get an upgrade for a submission over 30 days old. I think it would be nice if they let us choose which portals we want upgraded instead of it being random give us x amount of time to select a portal to upgrade and then if we choose one it goes to the top if not it randomly selects it.

Given the quality of submissions by PoGo players i think it's the best that they are not able to rate their submissions by themself. This would cause the portal network to be flooded with lampposts, benches, and other garbage like that.

@rz231 umm I started out playing Pogo and I am now level 13 and great reviewer status with onyx. Should I show you wheree in the lastest AMA where Krug said to not hold people to your own standards and vote when a person flat out basically was trying to gatekeep pogo players? Also yeah ingress agents have submitted the same trash since the beginning please stop trying to throw shade at one group when abuse is done by both sides.

  • It takes 3-10 months and sometimes even over a year and still no response. I review OPR, but it's not enough. There's lot of L12 agents here, but not many review. Reason? It's not worth the efforts. Which is true. We need more intensives for OPR agents.

Subs are reviewed quicker than they originally were.

Everyone should be grateful that niantic created this crowdsourced mechanism and stop moaning.

  • This....

People have waited YEARS for submissions to be accepted (or rejected). Waiting a couple of weeks is peanuts...

But yeah, unless you're playing ingress for 2+ years, you don't get that.

Agree with @XQlusioN and @lemonhelen , for now it will seem like review times are long but eventually things will change. If they really do want to bemoan their fates of having long review times then aim for 12 and get upgrades to prioritize your own candidates. It's also very easy to submit candidates but a lot more tedious to review.
