My feedback and experiences on Superposition anomaly Munich
Hey all, I'd like to share my thoughts on the Superposition anomaly. I was in Munich on Friday morning and I will leave tomorrow evening (Tuesday).
In general, I'm really happy about how the anomaly went. I'll start off by providing a bit of background on my decision to go to Munich: I travelled to every Kureze and Kythera weekend except for one (family weekend), so I have some experience with Battle Beacon-style anomalies. I usually don't know what destination to pick for vacation, so I just tend to go where ever an Ingress event is. This has worked well for me so far. When I heard that it was another Battle Beacon anomaly, it didn't impact me or my plans to come.
Let's start with Friday: dead drops were announced on social media. I absolutely loved this. I started reverse image searching and typing "church" or "fountain" or "statue" into Google Maps to see if I could find where those pictures were taken. I identified the locations of quite a few, and even found one myself. Because I identified many locations, one of the bikers who went to some of those locations, decided to also share some of his swag. This is the pictures of me finding it:
After the swag I got from the biker, this was the total collection:
After this, I went to ENL Pre-reg. I had a nice evening there, met quite a few new people.
Saturday
I have to give props here: the anomaly went great in terms of connectivity. Of course there is some lag during anomalies, but in general, I felt like it was similar to or better than anomalies we had with the Redacted scanner. I was in a bike team, mainly focusing on shards. It was fun to see a shard spawn and then to rush over there to quickly capture it and make it jump somewhere. We scored a couple of shards, so that was nice. We also did a little bit of battle beacons, but not much. There were also some less-nice things like a resonator buy option next to R8. That might have cost me several portals. Like, you just expect to scroll right and hit deploy, but the stupid buy menu pops up. Furthermore, the first thing you want to do as ENL when you arrive at a shard and the portal is blue, is to toss a JARVIS on the portal to see if it is immune, and if not, you have an easy capture. Unfortunately, there is now an inconveniently placed X8 buy option there, so that might have cost me 1 or 2 shard jumps. Oh well. The final thing I want to say is that I'm completely against this pay to win stuff, and we should not sell level 8 gear or viruses in the shop. Does anyone remember the top post ever on reddit.com/r/IngressPrimeFeedback? https://www.reddit.com/r/IngressPrimeFeedback/comments/9ugojr/feature_request_dont_make_ingress_paytowin
Anyways, enough ranting about that. Let's skip to the afterparty: The afterparty was really well organized. It was nice of Niantic to include some free gear in the swag bag, a food voucher and a drink voucher. I gave away the Hank Johnson and P.A. Chapeau cards I got (one in the swag bag, one later that evening), since I don't do character medals. I got to talk to a lot of new people. I even got to talk to the smurf who lives a 3-minute bike from my home. I should have probably met them earlier, but I just didn't get an opportunity. I also talked a bit to the Niantic employees, but I honestly just have no idea what to talk about. I did talk a bit longer to Ethan about the upcoming NL-1331 tour. I also showed Thia my folding phone, but I also don't really know what I wanted to achieve there. I guess I was just looking for an entry point to a conversation and to show some bugs, but yeah, I don't know. I did talk to a whole bunch of agents though. It was nice to catch up with people I hadn't seen in months or even years. I even randomly talked to the guy who organized the Vienna postcard banner, one that was on my to-do list for quite a long time. I swear I'll visit soon and do the banner :P Oh, I also forgot to mention that I got the LinkBuds at the afterparty. I've tried them out for pretty much 2 full days, but I can't stand the sounds of Ingress and my right ear doesn't have a hole to put the top thing of the earbud in, so they just don't properly fit me. I've tinkered with different tips and what not, but I can't get it to work. If anyone at Sony wants to hop on a video call to learn about my ears, I'm happy to help.
Sunday was Mission Day. As is tradition for me, I do 6 MD missions and then do a banner. My banner of choice this time was Roter Krieger https://bannergress.com/banner/roter-krieger-7556 . The mission day missions were similar to other mission days and the Roter Krieger banner was nice as well. With this banner, I hit the 10.000 missions milestone, which I'm pretty happy about:
In the evening, I had some nice Wienerschnitzel with some of the Dutch people that went.
Monday
Did some more banners.
Tuesday
Will probably do more banners lol.

Thank you for the recap!
Great feedback. The last time that I was on a physical anomaly was on feb. 2015 (Shonin), that was made in my country when the Redacted scanner was active.
