Mission Rejection

Good morning, I made a 36 mission banner of my local club, but in the next Monday 32 got accepted and only 4 got rejected. I made some changes in the description and 3 got accepted, since 15/07 I'm trying but the part 20 keeps getting rejected with this e-mail:

  • A lack of a clear and informative description and/or title
  • Mission Image, description, and/or title are unrelated to the Waypoints chosen

I've changed the description and the waypoints multiple times and nothing. To be honest this generic reason for rejecting my part 20 mission could be easily applied in the other 35 missions, also all missions have a description written by me, I don't see a point to keep the other missions in game if the banner is incomplete.. can someone help me?

PS: My English is kinda bad so I apologize if there's any grammar errors. Thanks in advance.

try have another agent submit those last mission, its a gamble sadly what will get accepted and what not...

Delete, re-create. Change up the portals slightly.

I've done that, when the mission is rejected I don't edit I delete and submit again.

Try making it sequenced, or throw in a password, capture, etc. Once it passes, you can put it back to hack any order.

Mission reviewers are told to appreciate variety over hack only any order.

Niantic has been stupid silent on this and seem to not care about player made murals. You can keep changing it but you'll still get the blanket rejection reasons. I've changed my 12 mission mural so many times and still the same generic rejection even though it meets all criteria. Even got one to where it said I had a third party photo when it was my own, or where the mural is of the location and they say the picture doesn't match the mission? It's stupid and annoying, NIA does not care.

if missions gave niantic some profit income im sure they would invest more in this matter.. until then its a gamble sadly on getting stuff approved.

  • Forget it, Niantic is stubborn about it, they never say why something doesn't fit. I have the same problem, a 48 mission banner, 47 approved, 1 not. I have changed the image 8 times, it doesn't matter.

    Niantic just doesn't care.

Sucks working through their shenanigans, but with enough work and help, you can usually get them up.

Change sequence to any order or vice versa

Change portals (they really don't love the idea of you re-using portals in the banner)

    Change picture

Have another agent upload the mission

Add text talking about exploration, adventure, exercise, etc

    Great suggestions!

Also: group portals if you can. Like, in your description say "hack these ART portals" or "park portals" or "portals that start with: The", lol. Reviewers don't know about banners, and look at each mission as an individual thing. Try to give it some kind of standalone sense.

Strip your description down to the bare minimum. It doesn't matter if the description matches the others in the banner - it matters that it gets approved. You can always try to edit it later.

I disagree that they look at them individually, definitely agree with everything else :) If they did, then they wouldn't care that you do a 36 mission banner on the same six portals. Except, they do care and the last time I tried to do a mission like that, they rejected all of them except the first one :/

LOL, I disagree that they care if you do a 36-mission banner on the same six portals. I've seen plenty of those (they're boring). Also, when a mission is not reviewed in a month, I submit a duplicate. The duplicate always processes first; sometimes I forget to withdraw the original, and it does eventually come thru (6 months to a year).

I think they rejected all but first of your 6-portal banner because they went to different reviewers. One reviewer thought the mission was OK. The other reviewer/s thought it was not OK. That's how they roll.

1 mission was okay, 35 other potential reviewers thought every other mission was rejectable, even though all 36 were nearly the same AND the other 35 were rejected all in the same 15 minute time frame? I'm not convinced. Also, the 36 mission banners on six portals you've seen, when were those approved?

I also had support more or less say it wasn't allowed and the reason for my continued rejections. I have a new phone, so I can't screenshot that conversation, so I actually just sent in a new message outright asking and I'm thinking about doing a test later this week. Six portals, 18 missions. We'll see how it goes. My experience is based off my own struggles attempting to get banners approved in single parks in the cities around me. I want to do cool banners, but sending people across multiple cities for 36 missions isn't what I'm after either.

I'm tellin ya: missions are spread out amongst many reviewers. These are just contractors who don't know Ingress - they've only read (or not) what documentation Niantic gave them (or not). What one reviewer would pass, others would not. A lot of it depends on how strict is the reviewer you happen to draw. If you submit a bunch together, they could all go to the same reviewer, but usually do not. There's no over-arching set of rules. You can construct a mission more likely to be approved, improving your odds in this c.rap ****. But it's still rolling dice.

The help bot knows even less.
