Mission Day Lite sounds interesting. Hope those who applied before for Mission Days have been able to host them now.

I think Mission Day Lite should be for towns with less than 10,000 people. I'm guessing they used 2,500 people as that's what the Census Bureau defines as an urban area. It was just changed for the 2020 census to areas with less than 10,000 people or 4,000 dwelling units.

Most of the towns I can think of in my region with populations under 2,500 don't even have enough portals to make 6 missions, unless it is speed set style.

  • I think that the idea of Mission Day Lite is really cool. However, a single definition of small town (less than 2,500 population) for a global game doesn't make sense. My suggestion would be to let mission day submitters choose which one think would best suit their areas: Regular or Lite.

2500? You sure its not 25000? 25k is more reasonable for lite mode as long as theres 6 sights to cover

I think Mission Day Lite is not a bad suggestion.

It can shine a light on places where there are attractive POIs, which until now could not be held due to lack of sufficient number of portals.

Also, we know from other threads that if the number of portals is less than 36, we are considering having temporary portals appear.

So we need to have a discussion to clarify the details in setting up the area, etc., but I am positive about this.
