I used to like playing PoGo, but all the quests and events put up by Niantic makes it a chore to play the game. I wouldn't do those tasks to collect those rehashed Pokemons. As for Ingress Prime, I used to like fielding, taking down fields, and doing many missions. There was even a time when our group even put up two fields in one day. Of course, the opposing faction didn't like what we created and had to take one of our fields down cause their bots are into those scores. Anyway, what we didn't like was being followed and stalked around because of the COMMS. Honestly, having the COMMS broadcast every move one makes it a colossal CON of the game, in addition to strangers following you.
HPWU was a lot like Catan - a lot of promising gameplay ideas that was poorly executed with very repetitive, tedious gameplay.
I agree - pure collection games have limited appeal. One of the strengths of Ingress is the faction vs faction element. Unfortunately for Ingress, most play areas have now reached an equilibrium with one or the other faction in control, usually based around a handful of old hardcore players.
I'm actually considering flipping to try and restore balance but.. Unsure if the other factions too far gone or too anti-Res to ever engage with me.
@SSSputnik , idk why stalkers persisted for so long. Just a group of new ENL players having fun and being creative. The problem is older players utilize "peer pressure" by forcing new players to join a group full of drama and ego. If one doesn't want that option, those old players join forces with the toxic players of the opposing faction to force new players to quit. I had been told in my face to just quit the game, btw. Imagine encountering micromanagement in a game like this? Our response? Created two field engines in about 4-5 cities. This is why we moved our fielding projects to a better and more welcoming city. Rock it like an ENL 💚 Hoping the last developer who harassed us recently was also taken off Niantic's payroll because I told him we don't have time to play against him. Strangely enough, he appeared after I blocked another agent in the COMM since he likes to micromanage as if he and his bots own this game.
Are you aware of anything JKR has brought since the end of the series? Her inability to shut up has definitely made people turned off on anything HP related but oh god WB is also horrible with anything. See: DC films.
Yes. Any Harry Potter game I’ve played now has a big “JK Rowling is not involved in this!” banner on their site. I can’t remember if HPWU had the disclaimer too.
I guess JKR got stalked, which is why she won't shut up, or some form of injustice happened to her. Anyway, one encounters different individuals out there. A person who claims he is a good friend material, as broadcasted in the COMMS, but disparages his significant other online. It tells a lot about that person/agent, and all the reasons to stay away from those types of creeps
JKR got slammed for some transgender comments - personally I feel her comment did not warrant the backlash, at all. It was pretty reasonable and not an attack.
Sad people can't express an un-bigoted opinion these days.
Insider information is circulating on the net that we will soon see a completely different ingress with a completely redesigned concept. Let's wait a little longer and see what kind of gift they are preparing for our 10th anniversary.
@SSSputnik, the backlash from JKR's inappropriate comments was magnified because she is a public figure. She can overcome her bias by educating herself about what transgenders mean, having a meaningful dialogue with them, and understanding the challenges and experiences they have gone through. As part of her apology and penance, she can contribute money to organizations that advocate and support transgender individuals like The Beaumont Society.
@SSSputnik Don't forget that she's doubled down on this several times. As for "pretty reasonable and not an attack" I'd suggest asking your trans friends if they feel the same way.
@Otrera35 There's roughly no chance in hell that would happen. Don't forget that she blocked Stephen King on Twitter after he tweeted "trans women are women."
@GreenVam I'd bet a significant sum of money against "a completely different ingress with a completely redesigned concept". Pro tip: don't believe everything you read on the internet.
@Hosette, most likely because JKR is a TERF and is blunt with her stance. However, not all feminists share JKR's views. Time and the world don't stop for her; the world recognizes inclusivity and equality. It is the same thing that can be said in the mobile gaming world.
Plenty of trans people have defended her statements and believe it was not a transphobic comment. I mean the initial comment was about safety for women in bathrooms for gods sake.
It's because of the COVID pandemic. Now that the world has embraced the new normal, 2022 Pokemon Go revenues are not that stellar. People are getting tired of the PoGo chores.
Hahah, certainly not "Entertainment that distracts you". Gambling was one of the most profitable industries during the 2008 GFC, with other forms of gaming behind it. PoGo is cheap compared to eating out every night.
Cheap? Wait until the players add up the costs. PoGo is currently chore-oriented; players are getting tired of doing those tasks, which are pretty monotonous with rehashed mons. The same thing with Ingress Prime; entirely redundant stuff. Well, not quite because, in Ingress Prime, you get more drama since it's the adult version of PoGo and agents pretending to be nice. In reality, they disparage other agents and their significant others online.
So, the creation of the NBA all-world game above is similar to the drop shipping method wherein the product is manufactured by an overseas company, and the product is repackaged by another company in the US since labor is cheaper and contractors don't have the work benefits of a full-time US employee.

Stalkings a bad thing. I'm surprised the stalkers have lasted so long though?
What cell are you in?

...why do you think someone from Niantic harassed you?
Yes. Any Harry Potter game I’ve played now has a big “JK Rowling is not involved in this!” banner on their site. I can’t remember if HPWU had the disclaimer too.
I know the stalker types. Luckily we got ours banned. Since then though, that factions been useless :(

Oh god.. Better not be crypto and nft 😟

Btw, the interest in PoGo is starting to wane and it might take the same path as Ingress Prime.
2021 was the second year in a row (after 2020) when Pokemon Go revenue exceeded one billion dollars US$. It's not waning.
It's because of the COVID pandemic. Now that the world has embraced the new normal, 2022 Pokemon Go revenues are not that stellar. People are getting tired of the PoGo chores.

440 million revenue in the first two quarters of 2022 doesn't **** "Waning". It screams "On track"
Can't argue there.
Folks also can't argue with the fact that ingress has waned since niantic waned its support team.
Yep, on track to match the 2017 annual revenue amid an impending recession. What do you think goes out of the window during a recession?

I think this is the first Niantic game since Pikmin Bloom to actually release? Says it should be this Fall/Autumn.
Is it developed by an external studio or by niantic ?
I think like the other ones, it’s done by an external company and then Niantic provide some support and their data.
Doomed then. Also limited appeal outside of USA.

Here’s another one.
2023
Full time benefits for US employees aren't that great. Australia not too bad but we cant afford to make anything due to high labor costs.
