As we edge slowly towards Ingress Prime 3.0, what’s the one thing you’d want from it?
in General
The most recent release is 2.92;
I would think that Ingress Prime 3.0 would be a notable update, so what would you want in it?

There's nothing in that post to suggest that there's a "3.0" in the works. The last "1.0" version was 1.131.2, and the current Android Pokémon Go version is 0.237.0.
Versioning doesn't work this way. It is simply going to be 2.100.x.
I want such an ingress that would encourage, even in the middle of the night in severe frost, rain, cold, the threat of tornado, tsunami or even earthquakes to jump up and go to the defense of the world.
Here is what Ingress I want! Such a game that would make me go to the scanner 500 times a day and monitor the situation, which can radically change at any time! I want such a game that I could not predict what will happen tomorrow!
Give me such a game !!! And I, as the most devoted maniac, buy your entire store, taking everything up to the last shelf ...
I want a battle! The great battle for the fate of the world that would keep in tension day and night! Great battle for the fate of the multi -verse! Give it to me!!!
and i want shapers.

I'd really not like that, that sounds like a proper addiction, the bad kind. Especially if you could literally di.e, do not play the game and get yourself to savety.
Ah, that’s a shame. I thought we were edging near to a nice big update.
What kind of coffee do you prefer? I love natural, ground coffee, arabica with decent caffeine content. I respect beer in which there is a decent dose of alcohol and a real gloomy taste, and I love women not rubber or mechanical, but living and natural, and I will notice an additional beautiful appearance. And the ingress that I love - great battle of a worldwide scale. But now there are no battles, now there is an exceptionally sluggish hostility between both fractions. The spirit of rivalry has long left this game in most cities. I remember the times when there were many agents on the streets, all the mechanics of the game seemed unearthly, each of us believed that the enemy smurf or the toad had to be stopped, because he poses a threat to humanity! And we performed miracles, drove in the farthest places, climbed into the mountains, went down the rivers to find the most remote portals and add them to the network. What now? And Smurf is not Smurf, and the toads are not toads, and instead of 20, only two playing agents at the same time.
Modern ingress is like coffee without caffeine, like non -alcoholic beer, as a man without a single drop of courage. He was exhausted, alas.
And as you sometimes want to die in a very old age, surrounded by agents of my faction, somewhere on an anomaly, squeezing a scanner in a shaking hand, which until the last seconds of my life was my faithful companion in the hours of leisure and the world of the game that unites many good people.
But something seems to me that this will not happen.
I think you could use help.
Are you playing the same game that we have been playing? Do you hear yourself?
As others stated, the version would be 2.100.x as it approaches. Ingress 2.x.x was the Prime launch.
Bah. Setting aside the colorful prose, there is a core to what @GreenVam says that I find myself nodding in agreement to:
The spirit of rivalry has long left this game in most cities. I remember the times when there were many agents on the streets…. [W]e performed miracles, drove in the farthest places, climbed into the mountains, went down the rivers to find the most remote portals and add them to the network.
The game where I am is effectively dead. There are not enough active Agents to make for interesting game play, and without interesting game play, there is no need to travel for and find remote portals, because there is no use for them.
One and the same, colleague, one and the same. But other than that, everyone's taste is different. Some like a quiet and calm walk in the park with the scanner turned on, others like to go to a distant portal, others like a hot battle on anomalies, others love to solve riddles... I love a hot battle as in the midst of an event that can give something new, unknown, valuable. We used to have these battles every day. We tracked down the habits of the opposing team, looking for tactics to capture territory. And now there is only one half-dead rival for the whole city, well, what is it. All my friends say that the game has become uninteresting. All the enemies say the same thing, that Prime has recently been a dull piece of something incomprehensible and monotonous. How to play in such conditions? A newbie asks me, hey mister, why do you need levels after 8 if they don’t give anything for them? And I can’t answer him anything, because I’m stuck without development at level 12 and I don’t need to go further. There are no rivals around, there are no friends around, silence and God’s grace are around. Periodically, some kind of smurf comes out to link, and that's it. Why should I fight if there are no shapers? If there are no clear goals to fight? Even if my leader, Roland, betrayed me by believing in some low quality photoshopped pictures.
By the way, have you noticed that even on this forum there are only a few dozen sincerely devoted to the game players? There used to be a lot of people, but now there are only about a hundred players who come here at least several times a week and unsubscribe on topics of interest, and want to offer something new. Isn't this the worst indicator of game degradation? what do you think comrades?
One more thing. If battles are periodically going on in your city, then this does not mean that this is the case everywhere. In many cities with a population of less than 100,000 players, the game has stopped altogether. There is a dead zone where there is only recharging of key portals. The game is rapidly losing its regularly playing audience.
The issues with the versioning numbers have been pointed out, but I'll still say a web client for Niantic Social. It's great that the current client is in-game already, but the lack of a way to get into it without having to load up the game kills pretty much all it's potential usefulness for me.
It's very possible Niantic Social might become a separate app. At least, a website landing page seems like another good option as well
As long as I can get to it from my desktop, I'll be happy.
I would like to see a focus on community-based boosts that require players to be in the same place at the same time. Target a demographic of 18+, incorporate meetups at local bars/breweries/restaurants, give bonuses for players showing up and playing together at the same time. Bring back the old "farm" days where your local players did more than just pin and drive away.
Would love to see shard relay races across cities/countries.
Would also like some sort of return to large anomaly play.
Oh, and fix the lag? Including the graphics memory leak in Android that has nothing to do with the server-side performance.
Also:
-Introduce procedurally generated questing, rewarding a particular lack of a certain playstyle in each cell.
-Automate XM colors based on cell wins: If your team wins your cell, XM within that cell changes to the faction's color for X amount of days after.
