Did you know? - Navigation Help
in General
While in-app navigation isn't implemented in Ingress Prime, being able to navigate to a portal still exists as part of the client.
The "Copy" button between the Portal Level and the range to the Portal, will copy the GPS coordinates to the portal into your paste buffer, on your phone.
You can then paste these coordinates into Google Maps or any other mapping tools, and navigate to the portal using an external tool.

I wonder how many not realize that ?
Yes... but having to leave the scanner to do this is not always helpful.
Be slightly nicer if followed pogo lead and lauched maps for you :)
Honestly, I'd hate that, because the times I use this sort of thing in the game, it's for putting into apps like Maps.Me (or whatever they've named it now), or various hiking apps. If I need Google Maps, it's usually from IITC and not an issue.
But regardless, this is mainly to inform people it exists, rather than a feature request to change it (which you're welcome to post if you feel strongly about it).
thanks, now I can find the way back to my car without using a beacon :)
Says who?
It's called having options, there's this really nice phone feature option app developers have called share to... you may have seen it somewhere before.....
... yes, that's my point.
By providing the GPS coordinates as it currently does, we have options. By forcing it to Google Maps instead, that reduces our options. You didn't say 'Share a GPS intent'. I have no idea how PoGo does it. If you meant a GPS intent, so that you could choose the app you sent it to, yeah sure, that'd be fine too.
Correct, thanks for the wording clarification :)
