The meaning of these new sequences doesnt make sence. .. So I guess, someone, Maybe out of nemesis has manipulated the portals so their messages is imperfect, and they hope the imperfect xm message leads to human chaos 🤪
I thought I saw a new one earlier on while I was playing, usually cause I have l6 and l7 portals near me ove started to memeorize the sequences (still not the real names, ill stick to lightning, gu n, shapers infinity thank you lol) but saw a weird one this morning that had me confused
And on the weekend when we most need keys therefore are glyphing far more, they introduce changes guaranteed to make people fail their glyphs, but don't provide an event with two weekends so we can't just wait them out.
I thought I was losing my mind when I failed a couple of glyph hacks in a row. I had to turn off a podcast to figure things out. While I wish the sequences made more logical sense, I welcome the brief change that complements the theme of this event.
I would love to see more varied sequences and new glyphs in the future.
The change in glyph sequences is certainly an interesting game mechanic, and I'm really enjoying the challenge. Glyphing is basically just boring and mechanical once you get competent, though adding complex cut out a lot of the pointless waiting time and made it a bit less boring.
The link event is basically a stats grind, not really a challenge in the sense that it adds complexity. Certainly there are ways to optimize it for efficiency but it can be done with brute force easily enough unless you're in an area that's really bad for it.
I can certainly see why combining the two would be annoying for some people. I did 41 last night without much effort, and may or may not aim for the third tier... I hate you-know-whatting stats just for the sake of stats.

I did the full set last night as part of a recursion, but I almost called off recursing while this thing was on, due to the excessive failures on key glyphs.
Welp, I got 41 links in using keys from my inventory, and until they change back the glyphing, I don't have time to finish the challenge. The biggest issue is that my brain won't allow me to remember fast sequences, unless I study them for days.
I got the 401 on the first night, but it was more of a flipping the bird to the format to do it despite the bad setup, than an enjoyable experience I was eager to do.
Here is a tip: use "simple" in the command channel to slow down the presentation of the glyph - that gives you more time to memorize the sequence.
I am personally very happy with the reverse glyph sequences because glyphing had become so boring and repetitive after I had memorized all the sequences. I like it that this event reduces the advantage for experienced glyphers who know all the sequences, and puts them on the same level as glyph novices. I hope there will be more challenges: new glyphs, random sequences, mirror-image, upside-down ...
I just wish Niantic would have said, "hey we're also going to calvinball this event and make glyph sequences backwards" prior to finding out on April 1. I guess I'll just have to tap hack and capsule keys for this event, since it puts people with memory disabilities at a disadvantage.
arent the april fools glyphs gone ? will they last until next week ? i fail so many i dont really enjoy them..... really struggle with the reversed now that we need keys at most but finally i reached 401 links today so i can relax some and not go crazy i miss a glyph and get less keys because of that..

Threw me for a loop.
Thanks for this spoiler, won't use "complex" for a while xD

or is it 1’th of april?
@Amaterasu00 Would you be so kind as to remove the detail you added? I wanted to admire the change without adding any details.

Im really sorry, didnt mean to offend you. And how could I resist, the one who actually covered the whole world in a field 😁
Accept how do I delete it? 😵
@Amaterasu00 You can just edit your comment and remove the line "It actually seems like it is..." That's the one with the spoiler.
If not, no big deal. People will figure it out in a day or so anyway. And you didn't offend. (-:
Oh I have 21 hours left until I can edit a comment 🤯
But I will put a reminder, maybe I can save someone 😅
@Amaterasu00 You actually have that backwards. You can only edit a comment until the time expires... after that it's permanent.
I’m pretty sure all the glyphs are just backwards.
I find it helps to read them in a Yoda voice
Agree, they seen to be backwards

that's why they call it a challenge
for some its a punishment.
"They" might, but it's actually a barrier to entry. Which is the opposite of a well designed event.
Someone put Yoda in charge of glyph sequences

Git gud. ;P
Good thing you can get extra keys even with incomplete glyph sequences.

@OnceAMoose Surely you can remember the first glyph of a sequence rather than tap hacking?

Pitty the shortness of this event means there only 1 weekend :(
