"Hide Agent Stats" Should Hide Mission Medals -Discuss

Has this been discussed before? Who knows....anyhoo

This thread concerns the fact that hiding agent stats does not currently Hide mission medals.

Many agents who Hide their stats like to have a private scanner, whereby members of the opposite team can't find out intel from said scanner. It's very possible to work out a particular agents play area (location that they may live) by the missions they have completed. For me this should not be the case and a scanner with hidden stats should have hidden mission medals.

This can be a discussion, I'm not looking for any faction style arguments I'm open to all opinions and I'd like an opinion from XM Ambassadors and Niantic if possible, is this an oversight? Or is this intentional, perhaps as a happy medium for people who wish to have private stats AND private missions there can be an option to toggle both.

Thanks for reading. S

My opinion, if someone is concerned about their privacy, they can take the necessary precautions to maintain whatever level of privacy they need. Agents started this game and understand what is and isn't seen by other agents. Plus, if they want, they can use that to their advantage by only doing missions in other cities, etc.

All you need to figure out an agent’s play area is to look at the Intel map. As for where they live, all it tells you is what cities they were in.

Mostly, all it tells you is that the “new” player who just attacked your portal is likely a visitor from X, probably legit and nothing to worry about.

Take away mission badges from the public profile and every player who visits a new city will be accused, likely behind their backs, of being some local’s alternate/backpack account.

I think that it's reasonable to be able to hide mission badges but it should be a separate control.

I hide my stats but would like my mission badges to be visible. I do single missions as travel markers and I kinda want people who look at my mission badges to go, "Whoa, she gets around a lot."

Only the last 10 missions are shown.

Edit: Oh they changed that. That used to be the restriction that privacy allowed.
