Ingress “Community Days” going forward
in General
Today, we have Second Sunday and in the other Niantic games (Pikmin Bloom & Pokémon GO) they have their Community Day today. According to the Community Day website;
The three games will continue to have their Community Days on the same day until July 2022. As the Pokémon GO blog has already announced Community Day dates of;
- April 23rd
- May 21st
We then know that there should be a community style day to link into that date with Ingress.
However, I can only see that we have Earth Day on these dates in April, and then the Kythera Anomaly in May. Do these feel enough like a “Community Day”, for those who have played them in other games? Would you want to see a specific “Ingress Community Day” in future and what would you want from it?

"Community Day" is in a LOT of cities! https://nianticlabs.com/blog/niantic-communityday-mar2022/?hl=en It's a meet-up, more items for spinning a stop, and swag.
I guess it sounds kinda like meeting the NL-1331 van. Several years ago (2018?), our van keys replicated (even if not in a qcap) - I thought it meant they were going to get more vans, and make these meet-ups more common. But no.
You said it your self, 'all of Niantic games' doesn't include Ingress- the lost step child.... /s
There were some Portals activated temporarily today for “Ingress Community Day”.
There's numerous times where stops have transitioned to Ingress and vice versa
Those wouldn't normally include the word "Ingress" in the description though ;)
Oh maybe that's why they reinstated the 20-meter rule - so they can keep some wayspots in reserve to use on special occasions. Many now-too-close portals are in populated areas that would be good for events.
but they have to update the nomination system in ingress fast.
now yo ucan nominate duplicates without knowing they exist (because misplaced and in the 20m stupid rule)
at least pogo shows all lightship POI
