Feature Request: Please Let Us Separate Cosmetic Badges from Gameplay Badges
I know this comes up every time a new cosmetic badge is released, and today is no exception. I really like the design of this new heart badge, but not at the cost of it shifting my gameplay badges yet one more spot down. Since the introduction of non-character cosmetic badges, I've purchased 7, including the Lunar New Year a couple of weeks ago, but each time I get a little more reluctant to displace yet more gameplay badges. The valentines badge is attractive and I want to continue to financially support Ingress, but it would mean making one of my hard-earned onyx badges disappear from my main profile screenshot. I also have 17 distinct unredeemed character badges in my collection for the same reason.
Please note I am not asking for profile sorting - at least not for the gameplay badges (including special event and annual badges). Those badges tell the story of an agent's journey, and the order should be maintained. But the cosmetic badges are different, and should be displayed differently. Separating them would allow both sets to be more distinct and prominent than either is when intermingled.

Being able to sort or maybe have a tab for the different kinds of badges would lead me to finally redeeming my hoard of badge codes I have and then purchasing what I don't have when they are available in the app/client.
1000% agree. This is what makes me conflicted about the cosmetic medals. Not hating on them. I like them, but feel reluctant to buy them because of the clutter. I usually end up buying them anyway in hopes that someday we will have an option to sort them or put them somewhere else.
I'd love it if we had some kind of scrapbook type of thing where we could put the cosmetic medals, and a place to retire/memorialize our souvenir keys.
Defs categorize alll the badges!!!
Events (Main & minor, anniversary badges)
gameplay
Everything else!
All sorted by category first then date obtained
I kind of like having my gameplay badges sorted by what cosmetic badges they appear between
I have nothing against people requesting their badges to be sorted, but please, make it a setting if it happens. I like my clutter of badges and don't want it to shift around personally :D
Seems reasonable to me. I would be all for the flexibility of multiple options:
1. Don't sort at all.
2. Sort cosmetic medals, but not character medals.
3. Sort character medals, but not cosmetic medals.
4. Sort some character and cosmetic medals but not others.
5. Sort all cosmetic and character medals.
Easiest way to do that would be a client side profile 'screenshot' creator then if agent wants to share a untrue version of timings they can :)
Agreed. I like my badges as they are, mostly because they establish a timeline...I honestly wish the anomaly badges were similarly intermingled with all the rest. It helps me establish where I was and when; when I achieved this, that or the other onyx medal, etc.
I would consider buying cosmetic badges if they were on their own tab. I want my main badges to reflect my accomplishments-- for me they are merit badges rather than decorative items.
I also wish the anomaly badges would go back to being intermingled because I loved the way that they provided a timeline. (I also want stats screenshot to come back because I loved having those screenshots intermingled with photos of what I was doing at the time.)
The profile needs to be reworked to show groups at this point.
NOTE: Your account maintains when you earn badges so I don't think sorting will be an issue.
Love the idea of profile layout toggles. I would appreciate at least these toggles
A) Current
B) Anomaly badges, badges that can reach onyx, badges that have levels but not onyx, everything else
Three collapsible sections, similar to Missions, where the last 6 are always visible.
Each section should be collapsible. However, Niantic would also need to either provide a web-view of someone's full profile, or an in game screenshot capability, because people still like having the full displayed profile (even though we can't do it any more for missions).
The collapsible should be easy for them because it seems the store uses some of coding for each header. (and yes that bug where you jump back to the top is the header refreshing)
