Personally I've never caught a spoofer, but I'm fully aware of multi accounts/backpacks which I reported...Niantic as usual send their auto script saying it's being dealt with..
There's a few notoriously known accounts who use backpacks to farm keys - even moreso now due to capsules not being able to multiply keys and such.
But, as far as Niantic are concerned, it's another player on their systems so they can boast about their player numbers.
I've named some obvious ones back in the day, but all you get is a whole group of them teaming up and bullying you.
It's a quite sad way of life using a game for your own ego boost just to put your name on the top of the board... Personally I don't care about CP or status, it's just a game..not real life..I made it a mission when I first began to out the obvious cheaters, but I've got bored of it simply because Niantic don't care...so why should I..
I'm not in any groups or telegram chats because all I see is one group starting on another... Over a game. It's like monopoly family nights and the sore loser hides money which suddenly appears..
Why cheat? If you cheat on a game, then obviously you're capable of cheating in real life...
Wooow. surprisingly, niantic banned a clear spoofer fast after 30 ~ 1 h after my report. But that was a clear spoof. going with enormeous speeds in brussels, captured portals after closing time and was in germany the same day earlier. and being lvl 8 with 15 km walked all time . So in this case niantic did good job.
In the Netherlands we have a green team that's putting up big fields around their town. Now is one of their teammates banned for spoofing, with clear proof from one of the agents from my team that he wasn't there.
That's a real sad in way of gameplay, 'playing for the cycle'. Clowns game.
If my personal experience is any indication, the answers are:
A. None
B. All of them
C. None
While I’m sure most players have experienced suspicious behavior from other players, I have only had one instance where I had absolute proof of a player spoofing their GPS.
Because of said evidence, I reported the spoofing through the proper channels. It should not surprise anyone here, that nothing was done.
My thoughts? Niantic does not care about spoofing, regardless of the degree of evidence provided. So, why should anyone bother reporting it? All the reporting players get for their efforts are rubber stamp, patronizing replies.
Good morning all agents. I gonna put my two cents worth in here about some cheaters. Please look into the area of Pierceland and Cold Lake. The area is Alberta and Saskatchewan ((( Canada ))). The one player has five accounts. I have never seen the player face to face but I suspect the one player is cheating. Please check into this...
There are times when spoofers gets away, and there are times when innocent agents are punished. But we should not forget that there are also many times Niantic and vanguards acts very fast.
This past 12 months, I have seen two spooferaccounts banned very fast, one got banned like the same hour it was reported, and the other one got caught in action.
All portals destroyed was restored on one of the places, and in the other case locals were able to re-capture portals without problems.
I have no clue, but I asume some spoofers are easier to detect than others. In the situations above, there were no questions since both accounts was flying faster than light. But also, they were reported. If we all would give up hope, and stop making reports, niantic would probably not catch as many spoofers as they are now.

Some big accounts that previous i report (banned) appealed and Niantic Lower the penalty from permanent banned to 30 days suspension lol

All of portals affected are curfew-restricted or closed at night.. Support does nothing, so do all "fast-track" requests.
I'm not gonna play this "game". I prefer to delete my 370kk so account if this will be closed w/o portal/link reset
