Hi everyone, let me start off by saying we don't take Agents violating Ingress Terms of Service and the Community Guidelines lightly. Details and instructions on how you can help us report such Agents are shared here.
You're actually correct. I've just got a warning. Niantic's message is clear: "Niantic is on spoofers' side in this war"
@UltraViolator We don't like handing out these warnings to users, especially to passionate players who just want fair gameplay (it's a 0 point warning that won't affect your account like an actual warning). However, this is neither the right platform to report them nor the right team equipped to handle them. Furthermore, sharing these usernames here is a violation of Community Guidelines.
We're simply trying to guide you to contact the dedicated team that handles these cases.
Do you realise that agents writing to the forum about spoofers don't have the aim to bother Niantic representatives? They are doing it from despair, as they have no way to have their reports processed accurately if they fill them via the website...
Thanks for clarifying. However, you can check the report logs and see how many times we tried doing it through the right channels. If the in-game reports would have been investigated, we wouldn't be here now wasting each others time.
If you really think that your colleagues from the support team "don't take Agents violating TOS lightly", could you please share the info on what % of the agents' reports on spoofer activity leads to the spoofers' ban? If this number is ~1-2%, maybe the cheat detection algorythm doesn't work properly?
Well, of course it doesn't! From my experience, when we fill the form at https://support.ingress.com/ , we have to do that for dozens of times before, after months of paperwork, some action against spoofing account is taken. The automated system handling spoofers works really poorly, so suffering agents just want their problems solved by the Niantic team, not by the Lame-bert who just sends formal replies.
"The dedicated team that handles these cases" should be fired (if exists).
We agents can understand that it's difficult to detect spoofers that don't make strange movements. We cannot understand that after reporting several imposible actions from same account, Niantic does nothing.
@NianticBlue , it seems the dedicated team that handles spoofing reports does not take any disciplinary action against those spoofers promptly and properly. Why would agents have to use the Community forum to get any action done? Better have the dedicated team handle those reports promptly. Otherwise, we would see a dip in the Ingress app's rating and more unfavorable reviews just like one agent left recently.
That's exactly the point. Spoofers are inevitable, we can't fix people with low morals. But what Niantic can and should do is taking actions fast. And I find it totally wrong that a newly created account can actually mess up the game in seconds. An account created with only reason to cross BAFs of its own colour and does nothing but crossing and charging its crosses with dodgy timings - reported - nothing happens. And they multiply, now there are three active.
@NianticBlue if your dedicated colleagues are so dedicated, I suggest you ask them about the proofs our dedicated agents provided and why those proofs were dismissed. I want to know whether an investigation did happen at least once, don't you, too? Just to have your conscience clear next time you advise us to keep reporting.
Quite a loud statement from NIA precisely 1 year after CORE went live. Thank you for the nudge, I believe 12 months is enough for you to convice us you really don't care about spoofing.
Like other agents here on the forum, I have the feeling that the "dedicated team" take our reports too lightly.
I our area some OBVIOUS cheaters have been reported for years (yes years !) and are not yet banned. I can understand that they have too much reports to review it thoroughly each days because there are more and more spoofers and also agents who see spoofers everywhere. But, for us the "passionate players who just want fair gameplay" it's not a sufficient reason to explain why our (time-consuming and unpleasants) reports of OBVIOUS cheaters have absolutly no effect. We all have the feeling that the "dedicated team" need some improvment and we are OK to bring consistant help for that as long as we can stay "passionate players who just want fair gameplay" in this context.
@NianticBlue (if you please to be so kind to open eyes of your dedicated team to this magical numbers) @NianticBrian (who will not have to figure out why agents cancel CORE en masse) @NianticThia (who checks DM once a week)

And yes, there's absolutely no chance they ban any of those spoofers now, because it would mean admitting their own mistakes.
16069711 - No result (so suddenly!), but we continue.
Impossible timings, deploys at closed locations? No way this new-born account is spoofer, Lambert said.

I spend more time to create a report on spoofer than the mythical dedicated team to close it. This is ridiculous!

All this is exactly why I’ve been playing more PoGo lately and less Ingress. A team that is seemingly out of touch of the realities of the game…

Brave and honest agent (may be violating lightly)
How many Niantic's dedicated employees does it take to ban a spoofer?
Ну пускай мановарец его побольше тригерит и будет вам щщастье
That escalated quickly
From advocating to straightforward threats
We all do the same as you - just build fields :(
Then why does the spofer get mad at our fields and help your fields? :(
