Ingress hangs or crashes on iOS if accessing Control Center during Glyph Hacking

I’ve noticed recently significant lag when glyph hacking. After glyphing “MORE COMPLEX” I’ve had to wait up to 60 seconds before receiving the glyph sequence (and there is the occasional Communication Error).

However, I haven’t fully characterized this issue. In my attempts to do so, I’ve started to pull down from the upper right of the screen to access Control Center. I’ve noticed when I do so , Ingress will either hang or crash.

This doesn’t always happen, but it seems to about 80% of the time.
