I dont see why, I still use it with a fracker to maximise the amount of keys i can get, I use it if I'm sitting at a portal for a few minutes and want to get the 4 hacks off. We live in a world that wants to be faster, sitting at a portal for 5 minutes or awkwardly walking about waiting doesn't help anyone, so the 90 second and 30 (think it's 30?) Second cooldowns are the most helpful. If they removed cooldown altogether, then look at changing the heat sinks, but theres still uses for them woth 90 second
They added 500 extra inventory plus key lockers, im guessing because people didn't like the inventory management side of it as much, and was seen as a qol improvement
@Perringaiden You've described a different style of gameplay but you haven't really made a case for more challenges or that being a worse style of gameplay.
The cooldown is irrelevant to bot farmers, because they are functionally unlimited. Need more hacks, make more bots. Definitely not a measurement of whether a change is good for gameplay.
Honestly my only reasoning is because I am old school. For me ingress has a 5 min cooldown between hacks. If I need them faster I have Heatsinks for that.
So you are a founder? If that's the case I can understand how you would be so dramatic about what I said. I started in December of 2014, so I have always known PC's, capsules and portal mods. So for me, that's my origin point.
Finally 150 people signed up to maintain the 90-second cooldown. I hope this many people's voices will be heard. Please can you think positively about this? We strongly believe that keeping the 90-second cooldown will revitalize Ingress.
Yeah, but it isn’t a surprise that users aren’t finding these forums anymore. They’re pretty pointless; it’s a “dear diary” platform for the users to vent.
And I would share it in community telegram, but those are pretty dead nowadays as well.
Have found that the 3 minute cooldown is just right.
Really fits well, between waiting that extra 90 seconds or scan a portal 3 times.
The reduced value of everything when we were at 90s really reels evident, as it was just too fast when combined with a VRHS.
To decide what mods to put on, to make the most of every minute available of Ingress play really makes the game feel like a strategy game instead of a children's, join-the-dots game

Imagine bot farmers with no cooldown

I guess. More thinking single person bot farmers rather than commercial grade.
No cooldown is still irrelevant for bots. They're going to burn it out and they're not going to get bored waiting, unlike humans.
Eliminating burnout (ala PoGo) is the thing that would massively benefit bot farmers.
Hi @NianticThia ,
The petition of "Keep 90sec cooldown" exceeded 100 people's signature (so far 117). We wish Niantic to consider keeping 90sec cooldown time.
Thanks!

Niantic are the ones who are evaluating the change of gameplay from the covid bonuses that have been put into place.

Sarcasm must be hard to detect

150? So how many players didn't sign it.... 🤔
i think they will first remove double r7 so probably the lower cooldown more like end of the year after summer i asume.

In written form for me, yes it is.
They said this will be permanent the 90 secs cooldown time for hacking the portal

I've found that for 4 P8 portals with VRHS on them, the 54 second cooldown is perfectly timed.
