Addiction and unhealthy gameplay
Its an overdue topic and probably amongst all gamers a well known fact that addictive gaming and overfocussing upon a specific topic causes social and mental issues in at least behavioural means.
Apart from a strong and even regular gameplay, which should not be meant here, many of you will know a few gamers where a game overtakes the full live and renders the real world and its demands to become second placed.
I really would like to start a thread about such unhealthy outcomes here as it is an important but so far unaddressed issue. As well i really would like to hear from niantic guys how they so far dealt with such, which options they offer or maybe planning to offer as its an important topic with all gaming environments.
So please guys, let us all know your quotes, experiences and ideas how to deal with such important sideeffects here please.

There are advice centers where you can get help. But the person must first realize that they are addicted.
In most countries fortunately these help and care points do exist, i mostly wonder how our community and as well #NIA could support such first insights and offer a helping hand as its the community which probably will realise such in the first row.
Everytime I feel like I play too much, I start murmuring to myself, "The world around you is exactly what it seems. That swing in the middle of a playground down the street is really a swing, it's not some interdimensional portal where substances of unknown origin gushing out from. Relax, the world is at peace."
So lets assume you dont align your sleeping cycles to checkpoints, not keeping up permafields up whatever it may cost and dont drive daily some hundreds of miles because its just the swing which prevents your world from breaking apart, am i right?
And ps, that swing probably isnt 40mls from where you live, isnt it? 😂
So what you are actually saying is that you are always covered by big fields?
Based off this post.
Nope - but i guess there wont be any new gamers beneath. Seriously personally even took that as a cringy joke for a long while now but there is a point where such causes some further thinkings..
The best solution is addiction to another game, then you have to split your time and the importance of each in your head changes.
The topic is something everyone needs to figue out by himself. I personally dont have this issue. However, addiction can only get defeated with your own mindset. If you dont want help, you wont really be able to do much. If you do want help, you would try to get it on your own.
Its not Niantics job to help with addiction, since the games dont use any gambling.
That doesnt help. You would just move your problems to another game.
Frankly speaking I couldn't imagine players to be extremely addictive to this game. After all, they would encounter some blatant cheaters and they would notice that it might take enormous efforts to take the cheating accounts down or more likely the justice would never come. They got frustrated and then quit or, if not AFK, go back to the normal state as they find that the gaming environment is not worthing the addiction. That's the story I could come up with in my mind.
