@GallifreyanP For most fields they'd just drop and rethrow.
My proposal is that the winner of the cells core is based on each faction's difference from their previous score. If the score is 10 million for purple and 200 for orange average at the end of the cycle then in the next cycle orange takes down 1 MU of purple and everything else is stagnant then orange wins the cycle because they've decreased the difference in scores.
Easy to game the system by rethrowing existing fields with viruses and battle beacons. Also would create a perverse incentive to leave fields standing to prevent new MU from being thrown.
Just make field, once created, no longer need to be maintained. A true permanent field which can exist as long as none of the anchors is destroyed.
Also, make it so the more MU's the field captured, the harder it is to take down.
