Niantic ID does not recognize emails with periods in them

Periods in emails are a wierd thing because they can exist but you can actually ignore them and the email will go through just the same.
My email is [email protected] and I've used it for over a decade in this way. It is the option I get when choosing to log in through Gmail for the Niantic ID and as a result it says no agent names found. I have a feeling you need to **** periods for the database to match yours?
