Niantic ID does not respect upper case letters

I have been a Niantic games player since ingress beta and used the exact same nick forever and on all games.
when I tried to do the Niantic ID reservation it only showed my nick three times in lowercase case.
I just hate that option and I never used it like that. I first thought it will be everyone lowercase but talking around i found that other agents got their nicks with upper case letters.
how can I solve this?
