Phone RAM full of Ingress 2.82.1

After less than an hour of playing, my phone memory is full of ingress. Ingress takes up more than 1.5GB of RAM and the whole phone slows down, there is nothing left but to turn off ingress, clear the RAM and start it again. Maybe it has something to do with lagging the whole game.

RAM is meant to fill up to what is available.
As long as there is sufficient RAM for the OS also.
The device slowing down might actually be the OS thermally throttling the CPU and GPU.
Or
The OS throttling the CPU and GPU when the battery is very low.
Both of these happen even on high end Samsung devices.
